What I find stunning is the absolute lack of condemnation from certain elected reps they will constantly talk about the situation in gaza which I would equally be against too.
Yet when actions by russia such as the above tweet are reported we have near total silence from the same elected reps.

I would not cherish much attempts to seize russian funds. It will result in tit for tat measures and there is approximately 5x more western assets held in russia which will be promptly seized if russian funds will be taken.
In fact, it already started - russians seized 440M from jp morgan right after usa passed law trying to seize russians 10B held in the usa. Knowing what banks do that 440M was most likely leveraged 9-10x so JP is looking at 3B hole in their sheet.

what does that leave Russia with? About 120 billion (which is about how much they spending on this war per year) in gold which they can sell except very very slowly as this amount would flatten gold prices, and rupee and yuan which they can’t spend outside India and China as those currencies are very tightly controlled
