When you live in the countryside and can take a snap like this on your way home.
@Grandeeod love it! I have some lovely paintings of cattle. It's mad, when I was a kid I was actually terrified of them, but love them now, especially their long eyelashes! Jealousπ
Oh my, they are in fantastic shape, I love it, please more pics if you have the chance
Today I had this beaut for walks.
He looks like he's saying "hey, how you doin'?"
Congratulations JK on your promotion.
Congrats on the promotion Jk ππππ₯³π₯³
Nearly hump of the week ππ
They only arrived tonight. A small plot and roadside too. I could pet them. This is why I love where I live. From city boy to country lad!
Limoβs and a Charley ? I have to get back out walking the fields . Limousines are a bit too strong for me to handle , plus before my aunt and uncle go for a stroll in the fields . They donβt get that hi-vis jackets drive animals mad
Is no mow May not a thing anymore? There's a guy flying around the estate on a massive ride on lawnmower. I'd love a go off itπ
I'm not cutting the grass in May. Love the dandelions and daisies and the birds and the bees and I hate unnecessary lawnmowing, petrol, oil and noise. It's mad that such a thought can be perceived as a political issue, and that such an issue has to be left or right. Anyway. Off work today and going to enjoy the sun.
Is cutting the grass a left or right political issue?
I just thought it was something good for the environment to not cut it
I have to admit, my mind originally went in a bit of a different direction when I read "no mow May". I guess this thread's reputation is getting to me π¬
Deskside here, trying to get my mind into work modeβ¦
I have a big back garden. A section of it is fenced off and let do it's own thing. Compromise.
While the idea behind no mow May is very noble, it doesn't work in a smaller garden and just turns the entire lawn to weeds.
Grand if you've a bigger area like Grandeeod above where you can support wildlife, but still maintain a functioning garden.
I've no grass at all in my garden, I'd really love some, even a small patch. It's all gravel and flower beds. None of it my work, all inherited from previous owner
There's your summer project sorted!
What's for breakfast?
It's grocery shopping day so I'll take requests π
Yes, it's good for the environment, but if you support the environment you are seen as left wing. Makes no sense. That's the point I'm making. Anyway, there are plenty of other threads for politics.
Having some coffee and about to paint a wall. Just a regular wall. Not anything special or political about this wall. π
May I bitch about the cost of groceries? Thank you for listening to my tedtalk
Work away, I'll rant too. Groceries, fuel, utilities, insurance etc are all ridiculous.
GP appointments have gone up as well. Found that out the hard way yesterday π€¬π€¬
Im constantly amazed that there is kids throwing eggs at cars, have you seen the price of them??
Just finished painting the outside boundary wall. Looked great yesterday in the sun when I'd half done and now today I'm finished it, and it's dull out, I think it all needs another coat of paint. It's a lot better than it was. Anyway.
Done enough household chores, so rented a camper van and off gallivanting across the country for the next few days. Starting in Kilkenny as thatβs where I shall get the camper.
Deskside in the home office, wrapping up another busy day of marking.
Thanks for all the congrats, guys! π Obviously I'm very pleased to be offered the position. It had taken them over three weeks to get back to me after the interview so I was beginning to have my doubts!
Cost of living in this country is utterly outrageous - anyone who isn't on a hefty salary must be struggling with paying bills, mortgage costs, eye-watering grocery prices, services etc. - it's simply not sustainable and whilst on paper Ireland is a very wealthy country, that's far from the reality for many if not most households who are struggling to keep their heads above water.
One coat is never enough but the second (and third) are always easier.
Third coat is where you start to lose the will to live then end up delighted with the result π
Says she who thought starting to paint the kitchen this evening was a good idea π€£
It's perfect painting weather though!
It's something anyway π€!!
