No, Virgil, I think random and Podge were referring to the meme being stupid…
Maybe so. Amended for now.
I can't see Ukraine suing for peace while their land and people are occupied by Russian criminals and I can't see their neighbours abandoning them even if the US vote to end their democracy in November.
Short of Trump deciding to sell arms to Russia (and not being shot by one of his own citizens for it), I believe this war ends with the collapse of the Russian Federation and the Ukrainians taking advantage of the total disarray this will cause amongst the Russian military, the vast majority of whom have no interest in being in Ukraine.
Lucky escape for several top people in the inner circle. I assume Ukraine also try to recruit people for jobs like this on the other side?
Is there a Stauffenberg among the Russian military?
You can do anything you like in Ireland except avoid tax. That's a hanging offence.
Besides being a front for the FSB I can only imagine the heights of depravity these so called priests have reached given they had unlimited power and protection
Any reason you're choosing to link to meme's from what appears to be a Russian telegram account?
For clarity, the meme is incredibly stupid. Russia would **** their pants if France put troops in Ukraine, though I don't remotely expect that to happen. Macron is doing his usual bombastic nonsense backed up by no action.
So a plot to kill Zelensky and other leaders was uncovered. Does Vladimir Putin every worry about what goes around comes around. I wonder if the CIA got wind of a plot to get rid of Putin. Would they inform the Russians seeing as the US seem to fear a scenario whereby civil war might break out in Russia.
Im not asking you for the text of a treaty or the negotiation positions. Just tell me what sort of terms, in the broadest sense, would be included in this?
Spoilers: you think Ukraine should cede territority to Russia, dont you?
While most wars do ultimately end, it is more likely to be a capitulation/surrender in the modern world than it is to be a negotiated settlement. Its funny because ive heard the phrase that most wars end in a negotiated peace somewhere, but I cant quite put my finger on it.
While most wars do ultimately end, it is more likely to be a capitulation/surrender in the modern world than it is to be a negotiated settlement
The whole "most wars end in settlement" thing is stupid from the outset - they mostly end in conditional surrenders. You don't engage in negotiation unless you think you can not win. Though the nuances between a ceasefire, a negotiated peace treaty, a conditional surrender and an unconditional surrender seems beyond most people who push this line.
On point to the Russian embassy types in Dublin waving the Red flag.
Me: Earlier:
Peace talks/negotiations have more latterly been a feature of Kremlin spin, with a sideorder of "saving lives". It's trying to appeal to the more measured western mind(rather than the usual fringes) by sounding conciliatory and "reasonable". With the "I'm only asking questions™ angle of course.
Whoohoo! Bonus points for bringing nukes in! 👍️💀😱☢️👏 Again…
You really are running through all the obvious talking points of the Russian Rolodex of spin aren't you? The vain Kremlin hope that if they fire out enough of the same scutter it'll stick. This particular angle of spin is at least more consistent over time, more measured, seemingly open(if one was dropped on one's head as a baby). Unlike the stuff aimed at the slower of thinking, the True Believers, the WEF/Vaxx/MAGA conspiracy simpletons. That tends to be more tabloid in nature. Nazi French Banderite Weaponised Pigeons™ who work in Biolabs© carrying dirty bombs kinda thing. Entertaining to be sure, but also sobering given it often lays bare how many utter smoothbrains have access to the interwebs.
And yet again I ask you Monsieur Poon Tang; how many died, Ukrainian and Russian in the last three years of the Donbas conflict? How many have died, Ukrainian and Russian since Putin's "SMO"? How many have died, Ukrainian and Russian in this past month, week, day? Compare and contrast. If you will. Or dare. Then get back to me with your talk of "peaceful resolution".
Russian propaganda
I think the bingo needs "Ukraine are kidnapping people from the streets / arming foreign/domestic nazis" next.
Or the killing priests doozy that Marjorie Q Green came out with. Don't fret, I'm sure we'll get there; there are a lot of questions that "just have to be asked".
Same as it ever was.

Several hundred protesters in a country of 40m. Id say Poland is going to leave the EU and NATO once they are in the low thousands of protesters.
I wonder which historical border Vlad is going to work toward.
Shoigu is getting the blame for this. But this is a mafia state after all. The money was going back to Mr.Putin too for his yachts and toys and mansions. Shoigu wasn't at Putin's inauguration today. More purges to take the fall for Putin.
Those angles tend to be more aimed at the MAGA/Tabloid crowd. The just asking questions peacenik spin tends to avoid it.
Indeed. It lays bare their claim Russia wasn't/isn't just another European empire. A claim they sell to the Global South. Many of whom buy into it, just because they didn't colonise or enslave them.
This just underlines why the Russian army is so crap.
He was at the ceremony. I don't think Putin will do anything to Shoigu as he need him as the fall guy in Ukraine. If Russia goes on to lose the war Shoigu will be hung out to dry.
Not so sure. If Shoigu really embezzled money that was meant to go to the Strategic Missile Forces, a.k.a. the land based ICBM units, as the tweet implies, that could directly affect Putin's "life insurance", the nuclear deterrent. I doubt he'd let that slide so easily.
More on the US soldier who willingly went to Russia (despite all warnings not to travel there) and got promptly arrested on arrival
He looks quite impressionable, this mistake is going to cost him.
BBC report on the coronation
warning, contains naked emperors
UK expels Russia defence attache, Russian response should be interesting.
Brave man. I'm surprised they've left him alone as long as they have.
Oh, I'd say he couldn't go for a p*ss without them knowing the colour of it.
Isn't part of the psyche of a Russian to feel imperious and what not better way than to make fun of an American stranded in Russia with "no roof" or no back up. It'd be a slam dunk for any downtrodden or any that feel their backs are to the wall in this conflict than to release that in taking it out on a naive young American.
Another American was tortured and killed a week or so ago. And he was fighting for years there with Russian forces.
If these are being targeted now then all is not rosy with Putin's forces.
