Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

These newspaper columns really are like the pointless sequels to a long running, low rent superhero movie franchise…. ie low effort, phoned-in cash grabs.
Just another example of what name recognition, however undeserved, can get you in life. Anyone else without a public profile would never be indulged by an editor to publish such piss poor, boring dross, week in week out. Lots of columnists don't have exciting lives. They sit at a laptop in a little study and comment on the topics of the day. So it's not to besmirch Tubs for living an ordinary life. But most columnists have a whit of humour and a bit of insight to offer…..
€750k this guy earned in 2011…. 🤮
No way an intern would think of printing articles off the internet.
Can imagine Noel in a smoke-filled room, a la Fr Ted songwriting.
'Ryan, you got to give me something interesting, give me anything, we can build your brand around it....No I don't facking care that you have no interests or are curious about anything. Any sports?......No.....music?…..it's not enough to say that you know the Beatles…...books?.…..you like books, we'll go with it....it's ok....no one will ask to actually read anything.....leave it with me, Mr. Toyman. Watch Daddy work his magic. This is why I get the big bucks.'
maybe Tubbelino was talking about The Beano annual…?
What accent do you hear that voice in your head in?
If the column was written by somebody who was more innately curious about the world around them, it could've been pretty good. Tubridy has found himself living in a city which is steeped in culture, history and more. There's many a person who would love to be in a position like his. He's living in a decent location and has a job that can't be taking that many hours of his day. He doesn't have any childcare commitments tying him down. As we've been reminded here, he's wealthy and successful. Many people would embrace this opportunity of a lifetime to enjoy London and to broaden their horizons. There's loads of potential material to be mined from an Irish person's observations and experiences of living just across the water. Yet it seems he has made it little further than the library and some bookshops?
Vogue Williams on his Bookshelf this week. I don't click on it, to avoid giving him an extra view.
“So Vogue… the book that changed your life?”
“Well Ryan, that’d be Brian McFadden’s cheque book when we divorced….. changed my life forever”
thankfully the Library Service in Ireland continues to be strong, and has kept up with the times by providing 6 electronic books at any one time to an individual customer, further education for adults, cultural events, outreach. There was a massive investment in library services shortly before I retired from that service.
Being a former library service employee I used to mention on Tubs threads how he rarely if ever mentioned the libraries. No special freebies there, whatever “freebies” are afforded, they are for all. He never supported effective and very worthwhile reading promotions for children, eg MS Readathon. Nothing like that and so many other aspects of the library service, they never got a mention because he never or rarely ventured inside a library. Whatever you think of overpaid Joe Duffy, he is a regular public library user, and very regularly uses research facilities in one service point, and he often promotes the public library service.
I think you mean "Partially Achieved"
Look I did it, seems like it was recorded in London same set up as Mr Walliams ! And looks like it was recorded back in Feb, when they joked about their new project!
Dermot Morgan's.
Nah he's more bishop brennan
"You are going to London and you will do a podcast because the only other job is on lovely little island, off the coast of Surinam and they have a couple of tribes there- you’re going to love this!- and they have been knocking the **** out of each other since 1907."
Lol. I am reminded of the carve arrows bit.
NK - by the way, do you know how to host a podcast?
Tubs - no...
NK - Oh don't worry, it will come to you, it will come to you.
Has anyone listened to the podcast?
What heavyweight tomes did Vogue pick?
I see Tubs face on the Examiner's piece about the Mazzers report into accounting irregularities at RTE.
Fool if he thinks this is going away.
Indeed. A more honest account of his time in London is really what the readers want…..
What it's like to live on Pot Noodle at 50 odd
The system shock that is working a real job for the first time in your life, again at 50 odd
Weekly diatribes where he settles old scores about RTE……."And now, we move onto Liars……!"
Waking up every morning like Bill Murray in Groundhog day and eyeing the toaster for a little too long
The pleasing discovery that good coke is a bit less extortionate compared to home
On the Indo website too:

Infinite Jest and The Twits.
At least Tubridy would be familiar with "The Twits".
Anyone know how many podcasts are in the series?
Successful at being a willing recipient of hidden payments from the TV license.
"Was" a successful man.
Too many.
Unlike RTE, people don't have to pay to listen to them and are not subjected to them being on in the background on a radio that they can't switch off. It is a brave new world for Tubridy. The figures on YT seem to be stuck between 200 and 300 a day. That's a very long way from the numbers on his RTE radio show.
I don't know if this is a joke or not.
Bobson, you love the bitterness. You wouldn't be here trolling every day if it wasn't for the bitterness.
There's one way to find out. :)
I guess I will never know.
