A cynical person may suspect there'll be a few good deals on them in a year or so once the influencers who bought them have moved onto something else 😏
Yeah. But the real question is can they sell them here (EU).
I'll happily take an LHD one too, btw. The first one of the F150 EV, GMC Sierra/Chevy Silverado EV,Hummer EV or Cybertruck to be sold here I'm all in.
It's a high silicon content SiC anode, not a battery per se. Storedot claim the anode can be plugged into any existing chemistry (NMC, LFP, LMFP).
With your username you could fix it with chewing gum and silver paper 😏
They could do the same thing as the Model S and just not do a RHD version
I'm guessing there'll be a few imported in via the EU or Norway, considering the F150 is being sold in small numbers
Personally I prefer the look of the F150, it's probably the first pickup I've seen that I'd actually like to own
is there not an issue that they are so heavy that you (or your wife / kids) cant drive it on a normal licence ?
Nope. You can drive an N1 class of EV up to 4.25t on a standard licence here. All those are pickups and would get the N1 designation.
You can see it here from the RSA
I thought this was interesting when I came across it today.

Posted in the Random EV thoughts thread the other day.
Am i the only one seeing benefit in the EV sales dropping? Less queues at the chargers with less people using them.
Re: the climate, i'm quite sure we're already screwed to the point of no return but nobody in powerwill admit it for fear of having to drop stealth taxes so that's not a concern. So in the meantime I can charge my car with less fear of queue
Sales dropping still means more cars....
I was just replying but I realised the post it may have been written in jest. There was an article in indo this week saying that the inflation rate got reduced but prices still rising :) doh

Tesla are dropping their next generation of gigacasting. May be to concentrate on self driving technologies instead of sales volume.
Thousands. Close enough to 10k added since January.
Taking the remarks about charging queues at face value, sales dropping would actually be a bad thing because it would discourage CPOs from investing in more chargers
There's plenty of planning applications going in for chargers, but the operator could just choose to sit on it once granted until sales pick up. Granted applications are valid for 5 years IIRC?
Meanwhile we'd be stuck with the same or a marginally improving network while more EVs are still being added to the fleet
Best thing for public charging would be a surge in sales to make the business case better
Well for a start I wouldn't take them at face value or at least not extrapolate a widespread problem from the few people who feel the need to complain about it. People who don't have problems don't as a rule get on the internet to broadcast their lack of drama.
And it's so easy to avoid any potential queues by just looking at the apps. eCars app shows if units are in use or out of action. Most modern EVs have so much range that you always have a choice of stops easily within range.
I don't know how many people still believe the batteries blow up.
With regards resale value, pretty much every car depreciates. When I bought my Model 3 for €40,332 last year I was thinking of the resale value in 10-12 years time. My last 3 (ICE) cars were sold for a combined figure of less than €1.5k. All 3 were in the 12-15 year age bracket.
I think my current car might be sold for the highest amount so far so that would suggest the lowest depreciation of them all
Anyone driven the Volvo EX30?
Talking of charging queues, if Derry is anything to go by, most chargers in NI are available most of the time.
Back in the free charging days, you couldn't get one easily, now that they charge, nearly every charger I pass in Derry is unused.
I've got an ohme home charger but I don't think I can set it to start charging at certain time so that it only charges during cheap hours.
Closest.i can do is pause until after midnight then resume but that's a pain to remember especially if I want an early night.
What car have you got? You can use the car timers.
Yeah, I thought it was always the car that controlled the timing.
You can do it by using the price cap function
Only 2 cars can charge at a time, while up to 8 queue (while at work),100kW max
That’s a really clever solution, lots of workplaces coming under pressure to add more charge points now. Any idea of the cost of such an installation ?
After a Google of it you are correct. The leaf lets you set 2 timers. I've set 1.
Does it only affect AC charging though? Like if I plug into a chademo during day will it not charge?
This seems useful for places where you'd have a pool of cars that people use. Just grab whichever ones has the highest SoC when you need it
But for cases of employees just charging their personal or company cars, massed AC chargers seems more cost effective. 7kW should supply plenty of energy over a work day
With my car, Cupra Born, DC charging isn't affected by timers.
No idea. You can see NMD installed it and it's a trial. I would think this may be better for town centre hubs where people parked for multiple hours. I do wonder though as suggested AC may be good enough. Might be handy at taxi ranks such as at Dublin airport where automatic queuing is triggered. Or tourist attractions where queues may be bigger at peak times. I do wonder though if it needs some cars to be parked many hours would slow AC to those waiting not be better? As in a hybrid AC and DC system where you get 7kW while waiting?
Looks to me like a case of build a better mouse trap.
