Yep we get it Dave, you like heavy metal music. Well done you.
It may have escaped your notice, but he also likes boy bands and not washing his legs in the shower. He doesn't say it much, so you have to listen carefully…..
Alison Curtis butchering Music Master again this morning! I hate the way she gives up on the last question at the gap before the drums and says "Sorry!" Sorry for what! Just keep read the question until the drums! Don't apologise when they haven't happened yet! She's gonna screw someone out of a point soon that'll make all the difference to winning and losing.
That Mark Hogan fellah who reads the traffic reports is irritating.
Every station does that, though?
Perhaps. 1st time I had heard it.
If it's the one where they go on to say they're made in Baldoyle Industrial Estate, I've heard it on a few stations at all hours. And wondered why they think I care that it's made on the northside…
Stiffys, brought to you from the Northside.
Britney, Backstreet Boys and Rihanna still making the playlist. Bloody hell 😂
...thanks for letting me know nothing has changed since I stopped listening to it.
Hmm… One of these things is not like the other… 🤔😉
My OH puts on music radio in the morning when getting ready for work. She has no interest in Morning Ireland on rte. I turn it over once they are gone.
I go out of my way NOT to listen to TodayFM for music when I'm pottering around the house, and prefer Spotify or other radio stations. I do occasionally listen to the Last Word.
are they not the classic songs that people are looking for? "oops i did it again" must be 25 years old now
Has anyone had trouble with the Todayfm app? I recently changed phones and downloaded the app again. But it keeps asking me to sign in, never has to do that before. So I tried to register my email address and set a password but keep getting an error message.
Same, new phone, so I just opened the app (all my old ones installed again) and had to supply an email, and data-grab details like gender, date of birth ("so we can make sure content is appropriate") and interests.
It worked fine for me, with myaddress+goloud@email.org and Password (why do you need to password protect an app where all you can do is listen to music or podcasts?!)
I hate that sly data-grabbing shite - no, all you had to do was ask "Are you over 18?", not ask me to give a precise d-o-b so you can better sell ads for products for sore knees or hearing loss (I swear 80% of the ads I've seen since getting the new phone are for those two products - the other 20% is for solar panels and a game I've never heard of!)
How do you guys think Today FM's playlist compares to 2FM's?
2FM's is better
I moved to Nova from Today FM in the last few months. Everytime I turned on 2FM I had to switch within a couple of minutes. Terrible music, though it's obviously aimed at younger people.
2fm musically but i cant stand the presenters and whatever you call Lottie Ryans job….Tracy Clifford is the only bearable one
Gift Grub really is one hell of an achievement.
Mario really has made some absolute worldies. Dry Your Eyes Becks, Leave Right Now, Jose and his Technicolour Overcoat and the long retired Jaap Stam are absolutely golden. Always great craic when he actually did Roy vs Roy, Hector vs Hector, etc.
Marmite. When he gets it right, he can be mildly amusing. But often it's a case of "Ah, I've nailed it with this one mannerism" that… just doesn't. So glad Joan Burton isn't in politics anymore, because apparently just screeching was an accurate impression.
He had a bad few years but feel he is picking up good again now.
I haven't heard a funny Gift Grub in years. I cringed at the last one I heard, and turned it off.
they're all from getting on 20 years old now though.
I don’t see the appeal of it myself. I often wonder if they weren’t to do it, would many people care?
I haven't really listened to gift grub for a long time, but the Gift Wrapped podcast is good fun. It's about the making of Gift Grub (now 25 years old), favourite sketches, memories etc.
6 episodes, all online now on all podcast platforms.
Has Louise Cantillon been out more than she's been in, since taking over lunchtimes. I'm sure that's not the case, but just feels like that anyway.
When the station you work for doesn't have a studio in the city you live in it's always going to be hard to commit.
She has been on TV with Daithi some days. All bits of irish on that too!
