Guy hasn't heard the memo that micras like this are fetching 2.5k.
Really a lovely little thing for very little money.
Nice little micra

Who can't spell seized either...
Don't listen to anyone who spells it "Alpha".
You can add a gutted DPF and map it out, that will still (currently anyway) pass the NCT.
They did come with a dpf and unfortunately the NCT look for it and it's in a spot that a quick shine of a torch will show it's not there. I ended up having to buy a second hand dpf, gutted, welded into place to pass an NCT. They don't let that stuff go now.
Having owned several 320 wagons of this vintage and a few 330s and one 335d I f*ing love these cars. Bombproof m47. Highly recommend despite its relative high mileage. Just a shame it's not an msport!
You would have to confirm that. Some cars had a DPF, even in 2005.
Also is that an aftermarket exhaust?
My own Leaf. Bought for my daughters to learn to drive in, but they reckon it's too big. Low miles, passed the NCT a couple of days before I bought it last month and still taxed. Very clean car. For anyone in here I'll let it go for the bangernomics limit 😁

No DPF either which is a good thing for the buyer not so good if you worry about the environment.
Strong enough money for a 2005 at €2700, but seems decent and same owner for last 8 years
NCT until October and clutch and flywheel done 5,000 miles ago
The M47 is a fairly troublefree diesel engine too, wouldn't be a bad buy if it could be had for closer to 2k

Yeah I was just thinking the same myself, but in the current climate after prices started to creep up again and also taking into account how clean and well looked after it seems to be, I reckon it would be a good buy for anyone with room on their driveway (Not me 😭)
It wouldn’t be a boards update without them making one or many things much worse!
I noticed all the pictures on the website are funny. I know there was an update last night so may have messed something up.
Gas that these were being sold for €500 before things went stupid. Great car these.
English import so have a good look underneath, but the NCT is up to date so should be ok.
That’s a nice find.
That looks lovely
This looks very clean and well looked after. Very few of them left on the road now. 94,000 miles and NCT until October. Surely Tom would take a grand for it?

Talk about being in the right place at the right time with that MGF.
I'm really looking forward to getting back in one again. They have weaknesses for sure but any that have lasted this long have more than likely been cared for but will now be in need of a bit of an overhaul.
Mine is getting new underfloor stainless steel cooling pipes, a PRT kit, new cooling pipes around that, timing belt, water pump, a hydrolastic pipe replaced and a repump to the proper trim height. It's also getting the hardtop repainted and a few bits tidied up around the body. And finally a new stainless steel exhaust. I've also gotten the fobs refurbished so the immobiliser works perfectly.
It still will have marks on the body but I'm hoping a serious polishing will bring the rest to life again. Finally, the factory installed leaks will be checked and theyll no doubt continue to leak.
All true and the reason you could pick up very decent Rover 75 in the day for tuppence. Because the man in the pub said you couldn't drive around the block without the HG blowing 😂
I bought my MG-F for €550 many moons ago. With new 2 year NCT and several months tax and in need of nothing. Thanks to @ba_barabus for pointing the car out to me 😀
Sold it two years later without NCT or tax and soon needing a clutch for double that.
Tbf poor "maintenance" or more accurately a lack of knowledge of inbuilt weakness and how to prevent failures happened across many many countries not just here in Ireland. The English blew many a k series head gasket too.
That said like any of the quirky car models once you know what goes and what preventative measures need to be taken they can be grand.
It's a bit of a step up from regular oil and filter maintenance though.
I knew a few lads with 1.4k series yokes and they took dogs abuse once they were kept in check.
I bought an MGF 12 months ago. Didn't get a chance to work on it so gave it to someone to do the recommissioning work on it. Should be back on the road in great tune in a few weeks.
I found the holy grail here though, an original Irish VVC, no rust, lots of power.
They're a special car let down by poor servicing and MG making some very silly decisions. K-series is a cracking engine.
I'll need to do more work on it later in the year as I'm replacing most coolant pipes but not all yet.
Genuinely, I couldn't find anything for the price any more that can give the same amount of fun for as cheap.
Stop telling people how good they are as values will rise.
Mine never gave an ounce of trouble and neither did my other cars with the K-series engine. Great engine that was, revving freely in my MG-F to about 6800rpm. The problem is mostly with the owners who treat it like some piece of sh1t from Japan, which of course the car can't handle as it is not some piece of sh1t from Japan 😂
Never drove a TF so don't know what they were like but the hydragas suspension in mine worked great too. Lovely car to drive, light, nimble, not particularly fast of course but that doesn't really matter much when you drive narrow roads up the mountains
Must have spread to the UK so, they're hated there too.
They were an awful job to do on an MGF/MGTF. Ireland wasn't the only country. Dreadful cars altogether.
This feels like a discussion from 15 years ago. The K series engines were perfectly fine, it was poor user maintenance in Ireland that caused this.
Your on drugs!!!! Hahahahahaha.
These are one of the shittiest cars ever made. Head gaskets, rotting coolant pipes. Alarms that never worked
and were constantly going off! I had one and I would never own a british car again because of it. I would rather walk because in fairness if you owned 1 of these you would end up walking most of the time anyway. My heart goes out to
the poor guy who bought mine. I should have done the world a favour and just burned it.
MG TF, these are great wee cars with the mid engine, RWD setup. Lovely summer bangernomics!
