It is made by BYD aka Build Your Dreams. Hope it comes here and that they change the name before it does,
This could really challenge the Tesla Model 3.
It looks great inside and out
I received my Carlinkit yesterday, I've not had an opportunity to open the box yet, but I'm not in any rush as my car isn't due for another few weeks.
picked up the car 10th April and the data plan started 1GB. Apparently it will reset on the first of every month. I went dry due to Spotify usage a few days ago and was using phone hotspot. Yesterday morning, Checked the data monitor app on the car and it told me that the plan is now 2GB, unlike month 1. Not complaining of course.
EDIT: Just got a BYD notification that it's only a free '1GB thank you' for the month of May ( & only for cars reg'd in April). It'll revert back to the 1GB in June. Bummer.
Anyone any sign of their Carlinkit? Mine apparently arriving in a couple of weeks.
Been in contact with BYD Dublin about the V2L Cable and they confirmed that they only come with the AWD Model but some were giving out with some RWD Models before they realised their mistake.
Thanks for clarifying!
Yes jacked up left rear driver side. Wheel off and tapped the stone out. Took 2 minutes.
There's a nice plastic wheel nut cover remover in boot where the wheel puncture spray is.
Thank you for this. Not sure why but finding the Seal kicks up a lot more stones/gravel than previous cars and have had this same issue a few times now. Has rectified itself but most recent occurrence hasn’t. Did you fully remove wheel to remove the stone?
Ditto in BYD South. And no convincing needed.
I got the V2L with my RWD. It wasn’t in the car at pickup, but when I asked for it the salesman (BYD North) got it for me.
Only on the AWD I am told
Nice BYD 🤣

which website is this, i don’t see it on the Ireland website ?
HTF could this be worth €380. I’d be kicking back on the dealership. No way this could NOT be included, irrespective of whatever deal you took re: payment and whatever place you purchased.
@AUDI20 does the V2L cable not come along with the car as standard?
Nice BYD is selling a nice V2L cable for €67 which is not bad at all considering buying one through BYD dealership is €380, They also have a 6% discount when you sign up. have just ordered one.
Nearly sure you should get a V2L with that they'd be shooting themselves in the foot otherwise, one size fits all when it comes to deals with them. Seal unfortunately was too low for me, dodgy knees and elderly parents n all that, lovely car though, Seal U or Sea Lion potentially although I barely drive the Atto 3.
I checked with my salesman and because I’m not taking out a PCP deal, buying outright (taking loan elsewhere) I don’t get anything extra. Just the chargers and sun visor cover.
I just thought there was something missing from the back end all right, reckon that finishes it off quite well. I bought mine from BYD North Dublin mid February. Maybe I should have got it in writing from the salesman about the 2 free services!
I like the look of that, Finnishes of the rear end can't wait for my one in carbon should really look good on my white car. also I could be proven wrong but the free tyres , brakes pads and 2 service's was a sales promotion for the month of March.
this. OEM all the way imho. however, having reversible aftermarket bits is also good to see on a car as it shows the car was almost certainly well looked after.
Saw a 241 seal in the past hour that the reg suggests is about 2 weeks old - and i couldn’t see past the 3D number plates
Porchse make a lovely rack for the rear of the taycans. Shame byd couldn't come up with similar

The best understatement is none at all of course.
Yep. While I like the black and think it goes well with the unlit light strip across the back, I prefer the matched colour.
Understated is the name of the game.
same here with tyres and brakes (if needed) after 2yrs. Not sure of the 5yr breakdown cover; I don’t recall them mentioning that but reports up to now suggest that there have been many ‘versions’ of entitlements across the different sales staff.
Got charging cable, granny charger, v2l cable, sun shade and the saleman told me there would be 2 free services andbreakdown cover for 2 years, 5 if you keep servcing with byd and 2 years of free data
Can anyone confirm what they got with their BYD on collection? Chargers, sun visor (glass roof interior cover) cover, free service etc?
Looks well but I went for the blue colour. Each to their own; it's all very subjective anyway. Whatever YOU like the look of is all that really matters.
On a side note, I ran out of data at the weekend. The Data Monitor app (Cheers RIS) pointed to Spotify as the culprit, using most of the 1GB allowance. Thankfully it will refresh on May 1st but I set up an automation shortcut on the iphone so that once the car powers up, the iphone will turn on it's Hotspot and the car will automatically connect, thereby utilizing the data from the phone's plan. This all happens seamlessly.
Yes I think I prefer it to the body coloured one, it ties in well with the other gloss black trim, I think
Much nicer than the body-coloured one.
