Colm Bonnar was the wrong man regardless of what is happening now.
I’d say if anything Tipp would be considered overachievers over the last 5 years. Exceptionally lucky to win the 19 all Ireland.
Yep Winning 7/8 matches v lucky.
Have Tipp even got back to Croke park since? It was a flash in the pan and were very lucky not to be playing Limerick in the final that year.
Beat Cork, Clare, Limerick, Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny. What we wouldn't give for some of that "luck" now.
Beat Limerick in a dead rubber where they rested a number of players. The Munster final was the true barometer of the two teams where Tipp were demolished losing the second half by 15 points. They were lucky that Kilkenny did the hard work for ye by knocking out Limerick.
Yep limerick lost 50% matches 2019 but they deserved to win it, sure. Enjoy ye're time at the top, learn how to be gracious in victory. New cash old cash etc.
Just couldn’t see Tipp beating them in that final. Kilkenny done ye a massive favour.
I've heard it all now. So as part of this plan Cahill was playing along also when he gave his interview after the game!
Tbf tip always play well in croke Park. Limerick were not firing on all cylinders 2019. Ye bet us in limerick, ye mostly do like we normally beat ye in Thurles. Let's leave at that, enjoy yere great team. Don't need to start re writing history. Ye might do that in July.
Since when has the Munster final been the true barometer of where teams are?
Yeah that is definitely nonsense that Tipp were shadow boxing. Would still give tipp a good chance of beating Waterford though but will need to put in a much better performance. Can’t see morris and forde being as poor again.
Agreed, got off track replying to an earlier comment saying tipp have underachieved the last 5 years. Ye definitely did deserve the all Ireland that year and the word “luck” I mentioned was wrong.
Tipp were the best team in the championship that year but I feel Limerick had their number.
The Limerick side who lost 3 games that year and who needed results elsewhere to go their way to qualify for that Munster Final you're so mad about, due to losing to Tipp in the RR. Off you go and play with traffic, like a good lad.
No point in rewriting history about it now, I was replying to a comment which said Tipp have been underachieving the last 5 years. If anything with the group of players ye have, 1 all Ireland is overachieving imo.
Did you tag the wrong person or misunderstand my post?
Must have misunderstood. So after yesterday will that lead to more supporters getting behind the team and travelling to Walsh Park or will they just throw their hat at it.
I had to read your post twice before I realized which part you were responding to so misunderstood I reckon.
For me 2019 belongs with the last decade and the end of that really good team.
I dont see much point in bracketing that team with the current team. The 3 AIs of the last decade belong together and with those great players.
Id bite the hand off ya for 1 AI this decade.
Well then Cahill and Co need to follow through and make those changes for the next game. There are at least 3 players that need to be replaced for the Waterford game.
Well whatever about donkeys can you imagine a babs team going out and some of them not even attempting to contest a dropping ball or a puckout! Can you imagine Paul Delaney trying to sidestep the incoming corner forward and then losing the ball! He'd have sent the forward and the ball flying so he would. The most mind boggling part is that Cahill himself was no softie and why he's tolerating this sort of tame hurling is beyond me.
A lot positional changes required as well. But it's all fine lads, Cahill said himself he's not worried about not having a settled team, nearly two years into his tenure.
His arrogance is maddening considering he's not achieved a thing of note as a senior intercounty manager bar a league title.
He says trainings Been going well but not transferring to games. Maybe his training is **** but doubt cahill thinks anything he does is wrong.
Have you re-assessed your position in light of our wonderful performance yesterday?
Cahill also did his usual trick that got him the road in Waterford - blame the players - said that there would 'have to be personnel repercussions' while I would agree with him for once I would hope that those repercussions extend to the management team. Cahill and Beavens have won 2 out of 9 championship matches in three years!
Cahill looked like a promising enough manager at underage but he looks out of his depth at senior level.
Trying to blame everyone bar himself reflects very badly on him. Tipp football. Waterford and now Tipp.
If they dont qualify it could get messy.
HHimself and Bevans have won 2 out of 9 knockout games they've managed.
Unclear how you can say that they (Tipperary) are not as good as people think or as they think themselves, while at the same time calling them "underachievers". Underachievers suggests you think they are capable of far more but the other comments contradict that.
IIt Might be "unclear " to you but the rest of us know damn well what he meant. You seem to delight in scrutinising posts as if they were part of an English exam.
I'm at a slight disadvantage to you then as I usually read the words people write to try to figure out what they're saying. I can't work out whether he thinks they are really good and should be achieving more (as underachievers) or not so good at all because he says both. Obviously you have some other method of deciphering what the hell is going on.
