they will a good chunk of money in the bank after sales you’d imagine. I think we’ll be be looking at a championship schedule for the next few years at a minimum tbh
All we can hope for now is that we lose the playoff semis and not have to endure the agony of having some misplaced false hope that we might win the final.
Serious stage fright here tonight. Not often the away end empties this early. Play second string aginst saints now.
Agree on second point. They are potential final opponents. Norwich or Hull for 6th. If Hull, then they are coming in on a run.
There is loads of money in the bank as it is. Our owners are loaded. PSR stops us from spending much though.
Whatever has gone wrong since the International break - disastrous spell since. I don't think we're going to be looking at big investment unless we sell at least Gnonto, probably Jimmy and maybe Archie. Staying down may be better for us with the loan rats, letting their contracts wind down going out again on loan.
Well done Leicester, proving yet again that cheats always prosper. At least Ipswich deserve it.
Not a great night for the worst performance of the season.
beckford is terrible analyst. Post game " i was quite surprised".
No midfield again and Meslier is not a keeper IMO. Never seen anyone in less command of his box
Gruev is starting to seem v lightweight.
Pfff and we thought Southampton were poor against the future title winners??
These lads were f***ing 18th.
Don't see Archie being sold. But Summerville, Gnonto, Rutter all sold. Roberts, Rodon and Anthony won't be back. Ayling and Cooper gone.
Teams fighting relegation are arguably tougher to play against, but certainly shouldn't be getting against them
Fair, if it was 1 nil and last ditch defending got them 3 points but they scored 4 and we scored zero.
Given all that was riding on the need for three points, that was a thudding anticlimax. Loftus Road has been a real graveyard for us over the decades, and it always feels like it's an evening kick off. 32 and a bit years ago, we shipped four there. Bielsa lost both games there. Even the camera angle on the near touchline made me a bit nauseous.
The seven games since Poland dragged Wales to penalties have been a real struggle. The wins vs Hull & Boro felt like we were on a rollercoaster. It's a stretch to imagine a win at Wembley a month today, let alone getting there. The team looks tired, and it'll take a lot to recapture a spark for a potential playoff semi in 16/17 days.
We've rolled out the red carpet to the Prem for Ipswich, let's see how they get on get on vs Hull & Cov.
Fwiw, it'd be good to see Ipswich back in the top flight. I'm old enough to vaguely recall the Bobby Robson side, and this season's Ipswich have played a blinder.
It was a fair result 😞
i genuinely don’t think things have gone wrong, we over achieved a little bit. Bad spell but not like we totally **** the bed, it’s a tough league, still have playoffs also so alls not lost
Sell Rutter? We would need to get the £30m we paid for him for FFP - do you see anyone paying that for him?
That's a very optimistic take on it. The results suggest otherwise though. We certainly couldn't sustain the run of results from the start of the year but since the break it is two wins, two draws and three losses. That's bottom of the table form. The simple view is that we have a small squad and ran out of steam. Farke hasn't rotated the starting eleven much, especially since the start of this year. The loss of Struijk took away an option from the defence and Roberts has been unavailable more than available so that didn't help but it's also clear he doesn't trust others to come in and do a job so this summer will be a busy one. You could see a lot of changes before next season starts.
I would love to think we still have a chance in the playoffs but to be honest it's very hard to see how given our form and lack of options to freshen things up.
But isn't our defence is the best in the league? Or so you say.
Come on, it's not really is it? Let's be honest about it.
We were riding our luck a bit, even before the International break. We lucked out with a few bad defensive performances.
Our defence has been excellent this season. I don't know why you think that is the problem. Our problem is that we are simply tired and we have no replacements that Farke trusts to freshen things up.
Not when it really mattered I.e…at the business end of the season.
Well he wouldn't be worth that on the books now, with 18 months of his contract gone. The value gets amortized across the length of contract. And I think someone in Germany or France would but him. I hope not though
It's disappointing because we have slipped up to poor teams. You just never know we might not get this chance again for 16years. Lack of fight last night was a real worry for playoffs. Anybody optimistic for playoffs is kidding themselves. 0 out of 5, hard see that record improving.
Just like our midfield and forwards then...
Before QPR we had the best defence in the league. We’ve now got the second best but will return to the top if Leicester concede three on Monday. Joint top if it’s two.
Goals conceded, the only way to judge it.
Well we have certainly skewed that statistic in the last month.
Its just we picked the wrong month to do it.
Prolonging the inevitable you feel. All praying for Coventry win. 100% ipswich win against huddersfield.
Yeah it just means it's going to the last day but I fully expect we won't still be second starting that day.
Coventry will beat Ipswich. Ipswich score a winner vs Huddersfield in the 97th minute. Leif Davis.
We concede an equalizer in the 98th minute against Southampton. Cooper OG
