A new thread for Spring general discussion.
Wet start in Greystones with definitely no snow. 4.9c atm.
Cold at 6am when i woke. Can't have been more than 1c, currently 3c with some lovely morning sunshine. Looks like being a fine day although somewhat on the cool side . N. Kildare
Back to reality 😥 6 degrees, overcast, raining.
It was nice while it lasted.
Finding it quite cool myself, had turned down the night storage heaters at work which are a curse for regulating heat and the building has got very cool and found myself wearing warmer clothes the last few days out and about. No great improvements on the way soon it would seem, possibly a bit milder in parts from around midweek but not uniform countrywide, depending on LP and frontal tracks. But very much enjoying the brighter weather, able now to get out after work in the evenings for a bit of photography, delighted to have photographed a Short Ear Owl a couple of nights ago here in Kerry by the coast.
A few funnel clouds over Wicklow at sunrise this morning.
cold. Just feckin cold!
Not too bad of a day here in Meath, it's sunny and on the cool side. The IOM shadow is keeping the showers away from me which for once is a good thing since the showers are just rain.
Met.ie mentions a balmy 13c next Tue in a washout, generally single digits at the moment everywhere. Heating on, fsake, but not too unusual for April :-(
Cut the grass for only the second time this year. Pleasant but cool this morning. We've just had a very heavy hail shower. A tad disappointing.

Lovely day here in Dublin today…cool but the sun has been out for most of the day
Nice weather in Galway. Apart from the bit of rain yesterday, it really has been a lovely spell of weather. i can't say I am feeling the cold. We haven't lit the stove for well over a week now. Weekend forecast looks dry which surprised me - I thought it was supposed to get wet?
Beautiful afternoon here in Castlebar. Cool in the shade tho!
Short, quick shower of hailstones at 3pm.
Sunny after that. The thundery looking clouds are making great colours now ........waiting to burst open me thinks.
11⁰ Meath
Check out BBC website. 5 funnel clouds in a row photographed off wicklow Bay this morning. It's a wonder syran hasn't captured them.
those living in northern Scandinavia might be beginning to think that the next ice age is underway, consistently cold there for six months now.
Stunning day here in the North east - the sunshine all afternoon has been lovely.
Sorry syran, just spotted your post above about the funnel clouds
Close to becoming a waterspout by the looks of this
Clear blue sky to end the day..cloudy cold most of the day…even had shower with very large marble size hail 🙃
Don't recall ever seeing a frost this late in April,
Mount Dillon reporting -2c and Dublin AP reporting -1c (with rain shower) at 0600.
We've had frost in May in previous years
A frosty morning. Nice and sunny now.
Forecast looks good for the bank holiday weekend atleast, would be glorious to have a sunny one.
Even in the standard-bearer Summer of 1995 there was a frost on the June, yes June Bank Holiday Weekend.
There was a sharp frost here on May 6th 2021 and lying snow on the mountains, pretty crazy for so late.
overall a miserable day really. It’s 8 degrees cold and that dark grey colour looks overhead. Such a contrast to last weekend. It could be mid December but brighter now
Lovely sunny day in Galway. I went for a long walk on the beach/coast and I was surprised with the number of people in swimming. It must be Baltic still.
Short memory so. Has happened plenty of times. May 2020 and 2021 featured notably harsh frost, record-breaking locally.
Dublin Airport had -2.8C on 30th April 2021. -1.0C on 29th April 2022.
Absolutely nothing notable about the weather at the moment. The collective amnesia by people amazes me sometimes.
Yep dire down south today 🙁
This is fairly normal typical April weather- cold at times with plenty of showers but also very pleasant and dry at other times. A vast improvement on March and early April tbh
