Where else would be suitable for a 'major in Ireland' ? Vicar Street or RDS Simmonscourt maybe
I don't think anywhere else is suitable for a week long major tournament
I'd guess they'd be doing it already if someone here was willing to take the financial risk whilst only getting a share of the potential profits. And also providing the PDC with everything they require (presumably free accommodation for staff, officials, refs, cut-price accommodation for players, plus food, transport). Much more to it than 'such a venue would be great'.
A 10 minute video on how/why they should be doing something here or in Scotland rather than in Germany or England ultimately makes no sense. They are a commercial operation and are presumably getting best bang for their buck in their current venues.
(Same applies to the Hearn-controlled snooker organisation and the frequent 'why don't they have an event in Ireland?' questions).
Didn't Citywest also have 'player championship' on before the Grand Prix ?
That would be a ton of 'hotel rooms'
Greeves wins 4/4 in her first modus appearance. The very last leg was unreal , 180, 140, 170, 11 in two darts . Really hope she wins a card through the development tour or q school this year
I mean, things can definitely change quickly in the Dev Tour, but with only £1200 she already has a bit of a mountain to climb being £2000 behind Danny Jansen (3175) and Jurjen van der Velde (3100) who are in the TC spots. (Barry and GVV are at the top of the table but pretty much guaranteed to keep their card going into next year; Jansen has no card, and JvdV is on course to lose his this year)
She ended up winning the entire week, she won every game she played. Pretty impressive stuff.
Averaged 115 in one of the games. The disappointing thing is that she said she has no interest is getting a tour card
Kim Huybrechts going to be out for a bit:
Scum bags
Hope he recovers quickly

I'd say they might try move it to the bigger Ally Pally hall at some point but all that would do would create a Premier League type atmosphere where most of the crowd couldn't care less about the darts. Barry is all about the money though and he knows that World Championship tickets are snapped up and he could easily sell a lot more.
Won't be long till darts is fooked for the fans as it will head for abi dabhi and when it does happen I'll never watch it again..........
This is sky's last year of the world championship on sky, hearn gonna move it to dazn
Thought the darts were already in the biggest hall. Had a walk around the area last year and it's huge
Current contract with Ally Pally is up after the 24/25 Championship (hopefully will be attending 1 session 🤞), so all this is very convenient. It would be a shame to lose the Aurua
I'd say doing The O2 or Wembley Arena is not possible due to the number of dates needed. The Copper Box Arena might be an option (pic below). More than likely just be moved to bigger place in Ally Pally.
Darts will go downhill if Sky lose it. Wouldn't be the same eyes on it at all
The Darts is currently on in the West Hall in Ally Pally that has a capacity of approx 2,400. The Great Hall in Ally Pally has a capacity of approx 6,000 so it's a huge jump in capacity but maybe Barry thinks he could sell that amount of tickets. Pure speculation on my part though.
Demand for the world's is through the roof and only a handful make it to general sale. The bigger capacity will attract more 'bandwagoners' but Barry Hern & Co won't give a flying f**k once the money keeps rolling in
Wonderful news from Ryanair today too, going to be fleeced flying over and back to London in December. Obviously the darts fans only a small % of customers but still
I know a lot expected it to start on the 13th Dec but starting Sunday 15th Dec
Hoping to pick up a ticket for 16th Dec, got annual subscription. Apparently SFA go on General sale
A Friday night final is good news anyway, been a wee bit annoying the last few years having work the next day.
D day next Monday in regards tickets for Ally Pally
Suppose it's better having the PDCTV subscription than battling in the 'priority sale' onTuesday
No luck in the sale dis morning for Ally Pally tickets
Demand is through the roof
I've been on the "Service Busy" screen for 2.5 hours. After paying for the subscription, it is a joke.
Got in finally after 3.5 hour wait (on my laptop after giving up on my phone) and got a ticket for the Afternoon session for the 16th Dec. Just took the first page i clicked into as i believe people were been thrown out of the que
Not what i aimed for but nice to get in the door and maybe i could do it as a day trip now. Suppose plenty to do in London
Hope you get sorted, no way anyone would pick up a ticket without the subscripton
Managed to get tiers for evening session on the 16th. Similar 3.5 hour wait. Every other slot I checked had max 3 tickets all tiers… Glad to get something in the end…
thats good, be nothing left for tomorrows sale and thats before the 'general sale' opens. The sale was a lot tougher than i imagined, no way did i think the wait in the que would be so long
Will feel so odd going in at 11.30am in the morning but i might get lucky and pick up an evening ticket too
Ryanair robbing bastards with the prices for return flights on the 17th Dec, might go British Airways from London City
I used to pick up tickets for the semi-finals and final fairly easily with the PDCTV subscription. I haven't been in four years though.
I can see why the PDC are contemplating moving it to the bigger room in Ally Pally considering the demand is so high.
Plenty tickets for sale on viagogo for over £1000 . I'm sure that could easily be stopped of the PDC wanted to
Yeah it's some joke and could easily be stopped
Heard the 'priority sale' was another mess. They were advertising these sales for months
Wonder will they keep there word and cancel all those tickets on Viagogo & the likes
Adrian lewis returning to the darts next year. Signed up for Modus
