Interesting video on stopping using wax.
Any recommendations on white vehicle nissan navara which paint work in gone bit yellow
T-Cut
Get a polishing compound to cut back the dead paint
Is using Facebook marketplace and local Facebook Buy and Sell groups for cars a waste of time? I just presume everyone buying a 2nd hand car looks at either Donedeal or Carzone…
Waxing is time consuming, a spray sealant is a lot easier and quicker to apply and you can get the same results. Spray and rinse are ideal for the winter months and just topping up protection on the paintwork
I agree - I use Sonax PNS and it’s brilliant for 6 months sealant
Any recommendations for a good quality wheel cleaners?
BH Auto wheel is among the best. https://washme.ie/products/bilt-hamber-auto-wheel
Went to wash the car today only to find my CarPro Clarify empty, first bottle fell over in the utility room and leaked. Second bottle fell over in my garden shelf and leaked. Feck sake! Not cheap. Literally used each bottle once.
And the sun caked on my car shampoo today so my windscreen has awful dried in spots...
Ideally you wouldn't detail the car in the direct sun, too stressful. Plenty of cloudy days in Ireland thankfully! but then you can't have rain also…
Ah I know, I try to not do it in the sun but was stuck for time!
For anyone looking for a snow foamer!

Looking for some help. Bought a brand new car a couple months ago. Since getting it there has been an annoying circular mark right in the centre of the windscreen. It looks just like if a suction cup was on the windscreen but it's about 8 inches wide.
I've tried numerous different glass cleaners to try and get rid of it but it remains on the glass. It's not visible the whole time, it can be seen in sunlight or when the glass fogs up. Any suggestions to permanently get rid of it.
Electrical contact cleaner, you’ll get it in any hardware. Spray a bit on a cloth and wipe. Or should remove the residue. It’s worked for me before on phantom marks like that for me.
There was some talk on this on a few cars recently. You may need a glass compound and machine polishing. I have Gtechniq glass compound there, it might be worthwhile starting with the soft approach and using an over the counter product like that.
Is it similar to the marks you see on oven glass doors?
Had exact same thing with a Tiguan I bought new few years ago.. could only be seen in certain conditions..
I removed my multiple circular marks by using this:

Easy but on the time consuming side, say 30 mins for the windscreen.
Anyone any ideas on this.
A neighbour called me over the other day asking could I "touch up" Thier bonnet as it was a little rough.
As soon as I checked it I told them it resembles someone having used a brilli pad to wash the bonnet and that they were scratches, not contamination.
The closer I looked, and I t cannot be seen in the pictures, it appears as though something was spilled on the bonnet then hurriedly wiped off which either lies on the topcoat or has stripped it. You can even see subtle "run" marks.
The rest of the car is perfect and the bonnet markings go from the centre to the drivers wing but not into the wing.
The bonnet is now a shade lighter than the rest of the car and very, very rough to the touch. I picked a small area close to the edge of the bonnet and tried clay baring, then a subtle cut back and while it made it feel a little smoother it did not take the bad look of it.
When I checked around the washer jet you can see a glimmer of the original paint and topcoat but the odd thing is the "peel line" steps down to the original paint which reinforced my thoughts that something was spilled on it and wiped around but the neighbour denies anything like this happened.
In short either someone done this on purpose, accidentally spilled something and tried wiping it off or someone made a piss poor attempt as doing a ceramic coating with no knowledge how to and wiped it off leaving this mess.
I suggested a body shop to my neighbour and a respray may be needed.
He has owned the car since new and the rest of it was washed in the same manner as the bonnet using the same equipment and products.
TIA.
Was the bonnet sprayed as that looks like the clear coat is failing. I'd try sanding and polishing the paint and see if that improves it
He said it hasn't been sprayed and that he only noticed in the last week, suggesting it either wasn't there or not as noticeable as it is now.
I'm amateur at best when it comes to detailing so sanding and polishing, especially on someone else's car, is a no-go for me. I might try it on my own but I'm not taking responsibility for someone else's.
Plus I'm not a detailer. I maintain my own cars and family cars but I don't do it as a favour, for money or trade for anyone else. I think the only reason he asked was he has seen me doing a family car over the years.
The puzzle is everything I've said to him in relation to what it may be he says it could not be.
Not ceramic coated, not washed with harsh or abrasive chemicals or equipment, nothing spilled on it, etc.
However the damage shows obvious signs of some of the above being the cause so whether he knows it or not one of them is the cause.
All of that is secondary I suppose to fixing it. It feels as though the clear coat is gone in places especially the centre so I doubt any amount of cutting back will work and if it does the clear coat is gone.
Reckon respray will be the only solution.
I should have taken pictures of the rest of the body work for comparison. It's in decent condition with a good gloss. Looks a completely different colour to the bonnet.
Anyone got suggestions for a tar remover?
Used .50cal about ten years ago and it was great. Bought another bottle this year and it's really not dissolving tar in the same way as the original bottle.
Vasco.
Spray on, gel, contaminant remover including tar. Works in about 30-35 minutes but safe to leave on overnight if you choose to.
No need for brushing, scrubbing or any agitation really. Worse case scenario you clean off too soon and some remains, then simply apply it again.
Sound for that.
From experience I'd be leaving vasco for an hour minimum. I was a big fan of it but it's too time consuming to use
It can be, but I spray in the evening (with the car the garage) then wash the next day. Not an option for many I know, but it is good.
I don't know of many others to be fair because of the above. IOW I don't know of any fast acting ones of the same quality
I find carpro Tar X excellent
In considering using snow foam for the first time and wondering if possible to get a snow foam lance for my old Aldi Workzone power washer or if I'd be better off getting a hand held snow foam sprayer to tide me over until I replace my power washer? Real Q I suppose are the hand held units any use?
Not sure about the Aldi version but I bought a cannon for my old Lidl pressure washer a few years ago and it worked a treat.
I was given a high powered Karcher washer from a good friend last year and got a cannon for that off Mick's Garage.
The Lidl one was just as good if being hones though.
