Just found the above chart backing up what I have been saying for years.
Global warming is a wholly natural event, if humanity disappeared tonight, global warming would still happen.
Actually the past is about the only way you can see the effects. And there's been plenty of change in the past and no doubt plenty to come in the future.
Anyone who believes that they're living through anything remotely monumental in the great scheme of things is breathtakingly arrogant imo.
So you're saying that thousands of highly qualified experts who all disagree with you are actually all wrong?
No I'm saying that thousands of highly paid highly qualified experts are saying something that's happened since the dawn of time is going to continue to happen.
I do not believe in my lifetime or the lifetime of gen x or gen a,b or c is anyone going to see the Earth turn into Mars.
Famine, drought, floods, crop failures. Tell me what is knew about any of that?
It's just modern humanities doomsday. Kids worrying about it because of social media.
It's a giant circle jerk of hysteria imo.
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”
Climate change™ is a massive industry worth billions annually, its bigger than the oil industry, experts will sing the tune they are paid to sing, only when they reach retirement and can't be cancelled will they express dissent from the narrative. Are you worried about climate? well, industry can sell you electric cars, vegetables, insect burgers, solar panels, insurance, mortgages, you name it, you too can ease your climate anxiety by purchasing the approved products. For the really wealthy, they can ease their discomfort by buying coastal property, flying privately or spend their Summers on mega-yachts and it's all OK because their tax efficient foundation funds the same activists who use the scientists to create the models with no demonstrated predictive skill, that they use to lobby politicians in order to create laws that enable unreliable energy, and carbon credit rent seekers, that said billionaires also benefit from. Who pays for all this? We do, to work or live we must consume energy, our cost of living goes up and yet the weather does not get any better or worse despite our efforts.
So as it has been happening since the dawn of time youll be able to clarify for us:has the rate of change (in terms of time) for each of those been similar or not to the rate of change that is currently happening?
I don't know why you bother, Seth, it's not the sort of internet debate that's got any chance of being diverting or fun.
if he keeps trying he might convince them they're wrong!
We are dealing with a particular breed of fanatic here, so no chance of convincing them of anything really.
I agree. People like Eamon Ryan can never be reasoned with
What change is currently happening in your opinion? What are we witnessing that has not happened in both recent and distant past?
We could be frogs in the pot or we could be in an era of over analysing and over population. We either adapt or go extinct.
I won't be worrying about it either way. But I think it's disaster porn at this stage.
The trends are in line with past great extinction events. The place to watch is the collapse of oceanic phytoplankton under heat stress. Last time this happened the oceans became anoxic and this wiped out 95% of all ocean life. We are fairly well into this at this stage.
Once the oceans go anoxic just about everything on the land suffocates.
If the trends are in line with things that happened millions of years ago then I think that settles it.
40% loss of phytoplankton so far, and we are just getting started. We are fucked.
Climate doom porn has become an industry within itself. I wouldn't mind as i and others can just laugh it off as the nonsense it is but i do mind that if effects young kids and those less mature. You see a massive increase with their anxiety because of it. It's pretty insidious in fairness.
Not long to wait so. Personally I'd be more worried about nuclear war or an asteroid hitting us. But ultimately I don't worry about things I've zero control over.
If the climate doomsdayers are right then industry and enterprise got us into this mess and only industry and enterprise can get us out of it.
So we either survive or go extinct.
If I do manage to witness the end days of humanity I'll consider myself relatively lucky in a way.
A climate crisis is much more likely to trigger a nuclear war as various conflicts break out as a consequence of the societal pressures that are created. China and India are the ones to watch since both are nuclear powers, both have long standing boarder conflicts with each other and both will be hit very hard by climate induced stresses along their shared border.
Nuclear war would benefit the environment as it would most likely cull a huge amount of people
Ah sure look if the "climate crisis" is bad enough to trigger nuclear war than the instant death from the fallout might be a blessing.
In the long scheme of things the earth will shrug it off but in the short term nature will be set back at least a few million years or so.
Permanent 'zombie fires' in arboreal Canada. Nasty, stay below ground until breaking out in dry weather. Oh, and western CA is in a 3 year drought, and counting.

Be nice to get some of this global warming here. It's been an absolutely crap year thus far 😓
yes I had a feeling the whole thing was a waste of time.
Lots of money to be made in emergencies and who will rock the boat. Questioning the narrative is career suicide
thanks for the evidence OP
if your in favour of culling people, please lead by example Buddy.
The Green Party are more damaging to the country than this climate change. People in a Party who haven't a clue, making stupid decisions. I have been listening to the candidates on the radio running for election and its a party based on codology ,farce and scaremongering.
In a few hundred years time you fortunately won't be around to understand how horribly wrong you were, but your children might and hopefully you have some sympathy for the **** they will face because of your indifference.
As I stated, codology and fearmongering is the key. I feel sorry for my children now for the s#£t as you say they are facing now all thanks to Climate change codology.
Indeed. And what field of science is your background in?
The Green's policies involve making peoples lives miserable. Cycle 50klms to work in the pissing rain and back home to a lettuce and turnip salad dinner with a staycation in a tent in some field in Leitrim as the only summer holiday to look forward to. It's proper cold this morning in Dublin and in 2 days time it's June, go sell crazy somewhere else Greenies
Aha. Do you have actually anything to say, other than "I hate it. Bad bad bad!?"
Got to say, usually there's a pretense of some understanding and not just wild rants, but it's boards.ie.
I recently did a deep retrofit of my house to save energy, it been an entirely positive experience and my comfort levels and energy savings are making my life considerably better. So I think you are just wrong.
