We'll have to update the old saying to 'March coming in like a lion and April going out like a lamb'. (Hopefully!)
We're a good few miles apart but the rain woke me some time during the night too. Awful sleety showers this morning. We're finding it hard to shake off the winter.
It woke me at 3am, the rain...
Their was no lying water in this field at 8 last night, water in a passgeway also that only occurs when theirs a deludge of rain
hail stones here now
some wind too, all Saturdays good work gone
That was some rain during the night
At last, got some cows out today. 😎
Ya definitely Jay ......I had to go back to see what I had replied to but it was the ten day rain forecast you were talking about.......it was a very correct forecast unfortunately..the grass has flew for you
….
great drying here too this afternoon. Hurling game with eldest this morning. In playcentre now with 2 younger lads. Offaly v Laois this evening so needed a few brownie points 😁
Good drying out this morning. Football game surprisingly went ahead. Good to get away for an hour or two. Loads of games cancelled
Was one of my better moves
Just back in from the shed checking on a heifer that is due. It's pissing rain but on the upside it's mild at 12c. Checked with the light of the torch on the six suckler calves that I put out last week and they are nice and dry lying in the bedded creep feeder.
Had a two week old calf in the shed with pneumonia today.
had to let the cattle out this evening. No feed. Plenty of grass. Out in 3 batches. It drizzled after I let them out but it was 15 degrees. Knowing my luck they’d get pneumonia in the shed.
Ye, no rain when i got up at 5 30, started around 7. It wasn't forecast as bad around here. Football cancelled, pitch waterlogged.
I was up at 4am checking on a cow due to calf and the ground was dry. The place was flooded at 7am when I got up this morning and it's been more or less drizzle or raining ever since. Heavy rain here since 5pm and it's not letting up.
Today was a crappy day
Yes Yesterday was great, then went up to the yard this morning and it is back to the battle of the somme again with the rain last night
Yesterday was a smashing spring day, rain again last night and over cast this morning.
Really bite on the air today. Alot rain in 24hrs
Went the long way through the fields to check on a few ive out on a rocky part & I've noticed 3 places were the sides of the dykes have scaled inwards I assume from the incessant rain.....never seen that before
ah it was shocking here today . Fecking lakes of water in fields. Lambs hunched up under ditches. Only fields with grass being walked into the ground. Only few bales of hay left. NE wind and rain blowing into the shed. Fecking sick of it at this stage
Definitely cause it'll work it's way to lessening the meal for next winter for all cattle, we'll all find it tough then once again.
Rained all day. Only 5 bales left. Letting them out on Thursday evening. I per acre should be ok. Quiet bullocks. Plenty of grass.
I feel sorry for the tillage men.
same here All day rain in the midlands. Had a few great day’s drying over the last week and back to square one again today.
Raining all day here, came across a mini land slide near Borrisoleigh.
All day rain and judging by the water lying in the fields the water table has never been as high.
It be ****
Raining here all day so far,
