You're obviously not aware of the circumstances surrounding both O'Doherty and Burke's legal woes.
Neither case involves jailing people for "offending people's sensibilities".
Both cases involve contempt of court for refusing to adhere to a Court Order.
He is hardly in a "hole", getting bed and board and we're all paying for it.
No chance of jailing people who attack people and they running around with multiple convictions under their belts, no? Just jail easy targets who offend peoples' sensibilities.

as I understand it she just went a bit mad after her husband died suddenly. It’s totally understandable and I absolutely feel so sorry for her that it happened it’s awful for anyone.
But you can’t excuse her treating this mother as she has considering Gemma of all people knows what it’s like to have a loved one suddenly pass away.

Gemma O'Doherty was an absolute gift to the government and NPHET during 20 & 21 if you ask me, her totally toxic personality which became public in 2018/19 with her attacking Muslim butchers, The Ryan Family in the supermarket ad & longford school children meant that nobody would want to be seen to be on the same side as her.
In 2000, she won the "Print Campaigning and Social Issues award" at the ESB National Media Awards for two articles; one on refugees (which is uncharacteristically sympathetic) and another on water flouridation (maybe more of a sign of things to come) in the Independent.
In 2011, she won the "consumer print prize" at the GSK Irish Media Awards for an article, also in the Indo, titled "Why yet another cancer 'miracle', really is a cause for hope this time" - which speaks favourable of variety of vaccines (a position she has clearly now repudiated)
