Additionally, her awards were for fluffy features writing and not investigative journalism as often gets misrepresented.

The sad thing is she done some good reporting on the Mary Boyle and Father Niall Molloy cases, there is an older thread in the conspiracy theory forum (can't find it now as the search function is now shyyte) that had a relative of Mary's who posted regularly. He had said the family had started to distance themselves from Gemma, but never went into it in too much detail. Some time after this she started with the Lord Mountbatten pedo ring stuff which I seem to remember being about the same time as QAnon.
I suspect some of the early investigative stuff was a mix of stopped clock and also starting to go a bit mad anyway. She had limited experience of investigative journalism before going in to those.
It was obvious she was getting madder and madder over time and yet people still had her on their podcasts, my local SF TD supported her Presidential run (as a councillor) etc etc.
Gemma lives on attention, ignore her and she will go away

In 2011, she won the "consumer print prize" at the GSK Irish Media Awards for an article, also in the Indo, titled "Why yet another cancer 'miracle', really is a cause for hope this time" - which speaks favourable of variety of vaccines (a position she has clearly now repudiated)
Also in 2011, she won the "Best Travel Writing" gong at the International Journalism Festival for another article in the Independent about a journey through Umbria in Italy.

Gemma O'Doherty was an absolute gift to the government and NPHET during 20 & 21 if you ask me, her totally toxic personality which became public in 2018/19 with her attacking Muslim butchers, The Ryan Family in the supermarket ad & longford school children meant that nobody would want to be seen to be on the same side as her.

I detailed her awards in this post. She's an award winning journalist, in the same way that I'm a gold medal- winning athlete (I came first in the sack race in the school sports day when I was 9).
