This happens on some MG and BYD when trying to use the Tesla chargers too. The handshake doesn’t occur.
Never heard of it happening here in Ireland, where this forum is based.
For the amount of Tesla chargers compared to all the other chargers here in Ireland I can't see it being a big problem.
Well your hole seems to know more than you.
The OP asked for info about MG cars.
I've simply reported what i saw was an issue for them as requested.

Seems to be a real issue in the MG forums as well.
Perhaps you are right about the republc of Ireland, but, it is not beyond the reasonable for the OP to travel outside it's borders (NI being a glaring option).
thank you for the reply. Yes it seems like an issue
It seems to have been an issue with the software or firmware for the charge controller. All clustered around July last year in the UK. It's further complicated by the fact that the issues only appeared on certain charging systems, all in the 350kW range. Or at least that's what I found when following that rabbit hole of a thread.
There was a service bulletin issued around that time for a software upgrade for the charge controller. This seems to have fixed the problem.
We don't have too many 350kW chargers in Ireland, so this may be why the issue hasn't been noted here. And then the service bulletin update may have been pushed out making the issue moot anyway.
Tesla Model 3 had issues CCS charging when it first came out and zappi issues which were fixed with updates to chargers and cars software.
BP pulse chargers in NI cannot recharge some makes of cars and the very prototype Chademo to CCS adapter was tested in NI and did not work on some charger types.
Hyundai had issues with zappi but there was work around in charger settings, main issue was time estimate to full was way off as the charger started off slow then ramped a few seconds later but car displayed time to full at the slowest initial rate even though car was charging faster.
You hear lots of reports from.users who could not get their car to charge and then another car attempted to use same charger and it just worked.
Exactly. Completely irrelevant to an Irish buyer, more anti EV bullshit.
Am online with Merlin's (I bought a diesel volvo but that's not the point) and a 2017 nissan leaf 30kWh just sold for 7k.
Am waiting to see what that dirty model 3 goes for!
That's a very strong money for a L30.
And a L40 - albeit ex taxi - just went for 6300.
Just waiting to see what the model 3 goes for. It's the dirty one, that's been on a few times. Its in 12 lots time.
EDIT: provisionally sold at 19400. Still too high IMO as it's 21k with the fees.
how do you get that provisionally sold info?
From watching the auction online. If it doesn't meet the reserve, but the last bid was close, they declare it provisionally sold and leave the bidder and seller work out a deal or not.
there'll surely be a fire sale to get rid of stock?!?!?
Article link is blocked by a Paywall, Screenshot ??
I use this https://paywallhub.com/
The archive.is option gives me the most success. In fact it's never failed me.
that's strange it wasn't paywalled when i read earlier.
this is the article: https://www.afr.com/world/europe/it-s-chaos-chinese-evs-pile-up-at-europe-s-ports-20240410-p5fipn
Northern Ireland number of DC chargers by operator. Note many easygo in NI were paid by faster project.
Recently bought a new MG ZS and we love it, looking to change our "big" car with a 2year old EV and we'd love to get a Skoda Enyaq but the warranty isn't great. Well not great when you compare it to the Kia EV6 which is a beautiful car and high up our list.
So just wondering has another a link to a site that compares the warranty on EVs available I Ireland?
how is the overall experience with mg? Is it an excite or exclusive? Had any problems regarding chargers or chronic chipping sound issue?
Exclusive LR, 1200km in so far and loving it, only charged it at home, we rarely do a big journey so thinking the longer range of the EV6 will be the finest when it comes to any of the big trips we make.
No chipping sound
Em, what's a chipping sound? The charging issues were sorted with an ota software update and only affected UK customers on high speed chargers (350Kw)
Do Applegreen have any plans to add more Eav charging stations?
Was at Enfield (I think) West direction and there was only 1 station, which was out of order...
The Tesla supercharger at Enfield is open to all.
Yes, see Applegreen thread, however they seem to be limited to 2 units per site.
Thanks, I did use it on a recent trip. Ended up having to pay extra tolls though….
You only have to pay one toll
Ah, you're right. I was thinking two. It's mind boggling how quick the Tesla superchargers are, love them.
if using a toll tag and you pass through in the same direction within 3 hours, they won't charge you again (they will beep you through so it might seem like you are paying twice).
if paying with cash, be sure to get a receipt so you can show it to the operator when going through again within the 3 hour window.
