Clerical Offcier 2023 open for everywhere except Dublin - which has its own panel from last year
details below
Congratulations... I am waiting for for second interview, but I didn't go o through any tests before that. The application was competency based and first interview was more focused on competency. I think next one will be more focused to test my knowledge on council services.😔
Got my confirmation yesterday I'll be starting in the CSO. No start date given so it's really just a case of waiting for that to come through, hopefully not too long.
I believe the CSO do WFH a few days a week which is amazing too.
Congratulations to you. Can I ask what OOM approx you were?
Current OOM is at 1270 for interviews
I was down as 327 for Cork.
Got the call about an hour ago with the start date.
Is there any update on Leitrim?
Does anyone know how long this competition will run for?
@Sweetpea90 the end of June this year
Does anyone known when new panel is going to start.
Anyone know how long the Garda vetting is taken now? Never lived abroad
Anyone knows what OOM is currently at Dublin competition?
What's the average weekly take home pay of a clerical officer, at starting rate, roughly?
I started recently and have been out of work for a while before it, and I can't understand the tax of it all very well, but it seems like I'm coming out with roughly 300 a week, which seems wrong? That's barely more than unemployment.
I'm not sure if it varies from place to place, but with the HSE the starting salary is €27,895. You might be on emergency tax, you should be getting about €460-ish after tax. You should have gotten a pay slip when you got paid, so check that and see what the deductions are.
I haven't gotten paid yet, first pay next Thursday, covering first 3 weeks. I was trying to sort the tax stuff out before first wages go in and was just going off what's on my Revenue account. As I said, I'm not 100% sure what I'm looking at there, but I think 27,895 is about right for the salary, so something's obviously wrong on the tax side. I'll get on to them and see. Thanks.
No problem. Yeah it's more than likely just emergency tax, in which case you'll get that all back once the tax has been sorted.
Congrats on the new job. The Civil Service Salary Scales are in the link below.

That's not what I asked, but thanks anyway.

Hi,
Does anyone know if the next CO competition will be next year?
anyone who placed highly in OOM have suggestions for preparation tests/services you may have used? Any recommendations welcome!
was wondering this too
d nephew is still hopeful
hey my Garda getting came back nearly 2 weeks ago and I haven’t heard anything back from clearance does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to follow up I know there has been 2 bank holidays but just wondering about a time frame
thought panels were for 2 years
sorry meant to quote you - 2 years i believe the panels run for, so the next one would be 2025…,,This year would be EO campaigns since the last one was 2022
I applied for civil service too as back up to the county council just in case, my god the online interview was difficult and had 2 people on it,would have been easier to do in person, they finished me up around 15 minutes in, even though email stated it could be up 30 minutes...got my results back few days later not even close to a pass mark..I'd imagine high expectations...no love lost there anyway..
Messaged the county council asking for an update on my panel so they offered a number of offers on panel I'm in and I'm down to 5th from 17th which is probably good..won't know if if all those 12 people will take offer or last long starting the new job..but they start in a couple of weeks with my partner..so I'll be patient and email again in a month or so but like my partner said they always looking for clerical officers just keep working away where I am and it be only matter of time before I'm offered a position.
Got a mail for an interview, already a co but want to change area - Is it true the interview is only 20 minutes, surprised how short that is, do they ask all the competencies
Yes in my case it was approx. 15. It may depend on who is interviewing you. I had the interview last Wednesday and got the good news this morning. More of a chat than an interview. Area such as resilience l,team work going above and beyond your role in your current role were discussed.
Good luck.
Thanks for that and Well done to you too….ah thats great, i moved on mobility a few months back kinda want to go back to where i was
Are you back on probation if you move over from a different co position and do you keep the same point you are on the pay scale if i was to move
