Fergus never had to lift his hand to perform physical work in his life, a sheep looking into a spaceship would have better understanding of aeronautics than Fergus would have of the ordinary working man/woman
Competes annually with Boucher Hayes for the title of Ireland's smuggest man
An establishment grandee of the highest order
Yes , agree there.
Brendan O’Connor would be interjecting every sentence, well in fairness the minister isn’t here to defend himself etc etc etc
fergus dissing the farmers, typical D4 twat
Not a fan of PBH but does feel like convo is being allowed to flow a bit more without constant balance proviso interjections. Panel also being allowed to argue with each other
an airport in Arklow… l think that’s a good idea to be fair.
Been sucking hard on the taxpayers teat for long time has Fergus.
l used to think fergus Finlay was ok. But l now realise he’s a windbag who has stolen a living working for ngo’s and talking shite
Gotta admit, I'll take PBH over BOC any day of the week - As for Fergus Finlay, he can FRO
PBH is one pompous lad……. I’ll say no more.
Arry shyte, Finlay gets a text every month to take part in the poll because he's on the poll companys panel, thought these polls were supposed to be a random pick
he appears to be a constant on rte at the moment ( lord Boucher hayes) a bit like the lad in work who always has his name down for overtime.
Peak disconnect on display as usual with the bounder in the chair
Dangerous pedestrians …. ? Interesting …
I did a long drive on Friday, and saw something I haven't seen for decades. I was passed by a Jeep who just took off on the wrong side of the road, passed a sequence of around a dozen cars, and forced an oncoming car into the hard shoulder, because he couldn't get back in to his side. Really brought back memories, because that kind of driving was very common in the 1980's on bank holiday Fridays and Mondays. The roads are a lot safer nowadays.
Always a minority everywhere but generally speaking drivers are civilised here , my wife and I do air bnb during the summer and foreign tourists frequently comment on our " civilised - considerate drivers "
We do have dangerous and aggressive drivers, though.
Contrary to its tagline, this show is allergic to robust discussion.
There is a consensus that is evident in most discussions . This comes down to the presenter and panel selection.
Maybe that is what they want but it makes for poor fare.
I switched over to Oldies and Irish.
I agree with you about the roads, but we do have a lot of dangerous drivers, pedestrians and cyclists on our roads who recklessy break the rules with apparantely no thought for the consequences.
The pearl clutching about road deaths is just another example of obsessive nanny statism ( which of course RTE are huge supporters)
While every road death is tragic, we don't have dangerous roads in Ireland
I suppose discussion about ongoing legal proceedings live on air is a minefield. Someone could say something that could be deemed prejudicial or slanderous. Presenters and programme producers are keenly aware of that.
Still no reason why it got 2min of discussion.
Either they are discussing the news stories or they aren't.
The DUP, Orange Order and Ulster Protestantism will not suddenly cease to exist because of Donaldson's predicament. It just means his political career is at an end. There are plenty who can fill his boots.
Yip, this.
And that our roads are quite safe compared to many other countries.
I think it was we had 600+ road deaths a year in the 1970s and our population was 3m, now it is 180 a year and our pop is 5.3m
I'm not listening, but a wild Guess would be the traffic corp being gutted.
What did he say?
THis guy talking sense about the road deaths, doesn't fit the media narrative though.
By far the biggest story in Ireland at present, with potential to bring the North to a halt again, is glossed over in a minute or two.
He sounds like he's just out of bed today. Hadn't even skimmed through the papers before he went live. "Ah, ah, ahem, ah ,ah".
