Work brought me down to lands end in West Cork today, Couldn't get over the amount of bales moving on the road
Tbf to Aidan Brennan I think that comment was made a good 6 weeks ago when land was drier and farmers weren’t as pissed off
we got the cows out when ever we could and it has definitely saved us a lot of silage and headaches now wondering what we’ll feed the cows. I know not everyone can get cows or stock out due to land type but anyone that is/was able to has been able to stretch silage
I’ve started bringing in some zero grazed grass for a neighbour there this week whos just about out of silage. Delighted to be able to do it for them to take some worry out of it for them

Clonakilty is only the start of west cork. Goleen, allihies, kilcrohane, now they are villages that I consider are in West Cork. Clonakilty is very border line

There was some update to the app yesterday, and now I get this screen and the app hangs when I try to add a heat for a heifer
And you can include the Department of Agriculture in that . Know of a farmer that can’t sell cattle due to a reactor. Has been tested three times since Feb 23 ,a closed herd, and they are insisting on another test . He is buying silage for a month already . Won’t pay him the hardship grant . As he said, they won’t get a chance to do it again !!
He did well to get the docks sprayed this spring...
Great drying today in places and temperatures coming up too. The turn is coming hopefully.
