More on these autonomous drones
To pull off one of its deepest strikes ever targeting Russia’s strategic industries, the Ukrainian government took a locally-made ultralight sport plane, swapped its manned controls for robotic controls and packed it with explosives.
Can I have some of those drugs? They must be truly mind bending!
While America sit by and do nothing.
The balance is shifting away from the West.
The weakness of the current US president as well as NATO as a whole is emboldening the China's, Russia's and Iran's of this world. China is watching the half arsed, half hearted efforts to back Ukraine and give then what they need to win and is taking notes. Zelensky has more patience than any man on the planet i don't know how he does it.
No doubt. If anyone thought his previous post was deranged well then that one was totally unhinged from reality.
Fascist nonsense like defending themselves? Or maybe electing a Jewish president?
@Hawkeye123 " there is a very sizeable Russian majority in eastern Ukraine."
Hmmm…
It's not the weakness of the current US president that is the problem, it's the outright treachery of the MAGA extremists in the House that is the problem.
The failure of America to supply aid to Ukraine is the fault of the Republicans (being led by the overtly Russia-friendly MAGA contingent) not Joe Biden. No amount of rhetoric can get past the simple maths that the Republicans currently control Congress, and they are th eones shooting down the various attempts at a new aid bill - not Biden.
Greatest asset, Really? You mean the Russia that is currently trying to cleanse Ukraine and its people off the face of the earth? Their safest and best trading partner is the one they will become a member of, and that's the EU, a process that's already underway. And of course, NATO ASAP.
The "potential trading partner" of the EU is of a magnitude more massive than anything Russia has to offer. Put it another way; look around your life and the things and services in it. How many are European/"Western"? How many are Russian? Feck all. At best we're looking at raw materials. Some of the oil/fuel/metals in your car, that sort of thing. Bugger all finished items. Well, none, unless you go out of your way to find them.
Thing is in Soviet days you could actually find finished items in the "West". Things like cars, watches, radios, cameras and the like. When I was a kid my dad bought a "Russian" portable radio. Still have it, still works too.👍️ For folks within the Soviet Union itself much of, if not most things, were actually made within the Soviet Union. From the kitchen table and chairs you sat down to eat breakfast, to the food on the plate, to the plate itself, to the wallpaper on the walls around you. Today? Eh… No.
Russia's biggest export market to Africa? Weapons. 👍️ Now African nations have been courted and fcuked over by pretty much everyone, especially in the coloniser days(Russia didn't need to import slaves, they had their own serfs, ditto with places like Poland. Why import, when you can grow your own?) and then Cold War 1, as both the Yanks(and flagging Euro empires)and the Soviets/Russians vied for influence, and are still being royally fcuked over, it seems only their "masters" change. A few connected Africans get coin, most get fcuked. Again.
Btw; What's a fascist? Define it please?
The problem, I think, is the political system of liberal democracy. It relies a lot on consensus for anything to really get done. I certainly do not say that this is a bad thing, or that I would prefer a more authoritarian system, but it is something that can become a weakness when you have a very divided society who can agree on very little. Political deadlock ensues.
camerons take on things
That's the reality. No-one wants to join Russia voluntarily. And yet there are people in the west who think the local population in Eastern Ukraine somehow likes Russia. Newsflash: No-one outside Russia likes them, unless they are paid to say so.
Even Russians themselves don't like Putins Russia.. before the war started, there were some 3 million Russians living abroad, and since the war started, they been joined by another 3 million…..so 6 million in total. And rising. They have to resort to kidnapping Ukrainians to bolster the population and scouring the world for manpower to fight for them. Even the leadership, send their families abroad both to live and be educated and work. And all because of one man, and his crazy dreams of rebuilding the USSR.
Are you sure of your numbers for Russians living abroad? I seem to remember much higher numbers mentioned a few years ago, in excess of 10 million, possibly as many as 18 million. It's late and I may be misremembering
6 dead in Kharkiv, russians targeting apartment blocks. They want the city. They want the population dead or to flee.
It would be an actual accomplishment if they captured it. Not a provincial town that is 90%+ in ruins by the time they are done.
Mass murder of civilians and moving their conscripts into the ruins left by their attacks with huge levels of loss in military equipment and personnel while doing so is not something I would call an actual accomplishment. Over 40 artillery systems lost by the moskovytes again yesterday many in the quest to kill civilians they claim to want to help be part of putin's empire.
No Mike, you are dead right!!! I got the 6 million Nr back in 2022 at the height of the start of the war.
Europe:- 6.2 million alone.
Asian Countrys:- 4 million +
Then there's a good few million Russians living in say Kazakhstab, Belarus etc.
But outside the bounds of the Russian Federation, its estimated that between 20 -30 Million Ethnic Russians live.
In fact, its even worse than I thought, much worse!!!
I want a full head of hair but reality intervenes; Russia would be truly suicidal if they tried to take a large urban centre like Kharkiv. They want it, but the cost would be enormous.
Weird beyond the extreme. But this is Putin's mafia russia.
This is the recruitment drive that's posted in Africa to get young female healthy women to Russia. First to build drones in Alabuga and then most likely if something goes wrong or even if it doesn't (after the 6 months) shifted off around Russia to work in the sex and prostitution industry.
There's so many red flags in the promo piece from Putin's Russia.
Terrorism is cheap though.
Undoubtedly but this has been Russia's tactic since day one; indiscriminate bombing of civilian buildings. Depressingly these Kharkiv attacks are what most cities have endured for ages now. Always darkly chuckle that the drive by Vatniks, contrarians and hyper "twas NATO wot did it" types tend to ignore Russia's provable terrorist acts.
That post would have been 100% perfect if that second last word was left out.
Was a typo. Provable not probable.
So Nazi's calling everyone else Nazi's
Theologian Cyril Hovorun, who worked with the Moscow Patriarchy, says Patriarch Kirill has embraced a dangerous ideology echoing Nazi rhetoric of a divine mission. Despite promoting "traditional values," Russia's domestic realities paint a different picture.
Shockingly, Christian leaders worldwide have remained largely silent in response to this distortion of faith to justify bloodshed. Inside Russia, clerics are too conformist or afraid to speak out. The world awaits stronger condemnation of this harmful ideology fueling the war.

what is this all about? who will call for lethal arms to Ukraine? and how can we send lethal arms to Ukraine if we are Neutral?
we should not be neutral between good and evil.
The article says that Young Fine Gael tabled that motion, and for it to be voted on…without mentioning a result yet.
Also to hell with «Neutral», that nonsense served Ireland during WWII but will provide no protection from Russian attacks in a wider conflict. Frankly it wouldn’t have saved Ireland during WWII either if the UK had fallen. Norway & Denmark can tell you all about what the Nazis thought of «Neutrality» and are both early members of NATO.
My only concern with such a motion is that Ireland doesn’t have much in the way of lethal munitions to offer. Other assisance might be more useful, like training up their newer troops in urban combat with the ARW or parts & logistics for their drone operations.
