Oh really. I was thinking it might be changing rooms or something. Didn't expect it to be a cafe with apartments! Mike won't be happy! 🤔
Cafe with a couple of apartments above I think, looked at the plans online ages ago but can't remember details.
What is being built next to the public toilets in Fenit by the main beach?
Looks like burrito chain Zambrero are opening in Tralee at the Corrib Oil complex. Good to see as burritos were one popular food option that Tralee seemed to surprisingly lack.

Spot on thanks
Yeah, that's what I heard.
I heard a vegetarian restaurant will be opening in where the Roast House was.
I think the framing place down next to Gleasures funeral home do them.
Where would I get a jersey framed in tralee??
Ah I don't know, it could be great crack working there.
If anyone gets caught snooping around they might end up on the menu after getting smashed and burgered. 🤐
I see smaash burger are looking for staff. Does anyone want to be the inside man?😁
It's not the previous owners who will be taking it on. There is someone else involved, it's at early stages I guess.
Saw no indications anything's happening at the Roast House. I doubt it with the owner's running Ballyseedy now.
It's similar in Tesco Deerpark in Killarney.
There are queues there whenever I go, I must pick the wrong time. 😛
Noticed that the other day but the self service checkouts are pretty quick when you only have a few items.
It seems that Tesco in Manor West no longer allows people to buy up to five items and pay at the customer service counter, thereby forcing people to go through the checkouts no matter how many items they're buying. There was a fella there yesterday "guiding" people and telling them the good news. The section is cordoned off and you can't even access it (unless you're returning something) from inside the store.
I think it's an inconvenience having to queue up with your one or two items behind people with trollies full of groceries. As in a lot of shops, people allowing you to go ahead of them is a rarity, and the ones who don't are inconsiderate a-holes. 😂
I heard that someone is taking on the roast house. There seems to be a definite uptick in restaurants and pubs opening up in the town again which is a good thing.
My daughter got a present of a voucher for one of them.€35 this morning to get the nails done. 😮 Glad she wasn't paying for it.

They are subject to the employment laws currently in force or the person hires the chair and is self employed
Are they run as horribly exploitatively as the ones in the US? Underpaid imported workers in poor conditions threatened with deportation if they make trouble? Well documented problem there.
This is true! I never get my nails done, but it does seem to be a very popular thing to do these days (and expensive!).
I suppose we can be grateful that they are not more phone repair shops...
Two empty units in town are now occupied, both with nail bars! One is where Meet me at Phillies was in the Square and the other is next to Gamestop in Russell st. Cos we really need 2 more nail bars! lol
It was a go to place in our family over the years too when my parents were alive and even after for a while but I haven't been there now for a few years. We often used to go there too for work night outs as there was only a small group of us.
Must be at least 20 years since I was in the oyster.
Similarly, Kate browns but we were out last night and called in for a meal. Nice to see a reasonably priced menu and decent food.
I have very rarely gone to the Oyster, I don't think I have been there in over 10 years! Always seem to forget about it!
I'll put you to shame and say that I must have been there close to 50 times... and I'm from Mayo. Huge time for Jim and the staff. It has been a very hard year for them. (The head chef died about a year ago and he was a real driving force in the business and obviously like one of the family)
I didn't know what a "smash" burger was. 😁 But now that I do I realise I've been making home-made "smash burgers" for over 40 years!!!
I've always seasoned the pan rather than the burger and squashed it down to spread it out so that it spilt over the burger bun. And that seems to be just what it is.
