However the point that the op didn't make is that the trend is moving towards biden. Trump is losing points in most polls and almost all of them are within the margin of error.
Should the trend continue, by the end of the summer biden should be in a narrow lead in these states
It could be, however these 'long time listener first time posters' tend to dump a claim, whether ridiculous or not, in here and then don't follow up in the hope to stir up trouble. I find it best to counter that tactic and hiold them, and them only, to account on those claims
The trend is following what I believed all along.
Once Biden was officially locked in as the candidate the "I'd prefer someone other than Biden" voters would begin to accept the binary decision presented and select accordingly.
The vast vast majority of those expressing a desire for the Democratic Party to put forward a different candidate categorically will not vote for Trump instead. Now that Biden is all but confirmed as the candidate that will be reflected in the polling.

The meanings of words often change over time. A 1970 conservative in the US might have been apprehensive about women having full time jobs or that marijuana is detrimental to society whereas a 2024 conservative likely thinks that climate change is a hoax, vaccines are worse than diseases and that family values are best advanced by voting for an adulterous rapist of proven dishonesty.
It's not his behaviour that's the concern - It's the sheer number of people that watch/listen to his dribbling and believe him that's the issue.
