I thought he would get some jail time especially since he ran from the cops and pleaded not guilty.
He's very lucky, but not a great role model for young gaa fans.
Someone is a thug for one mistake? Nobody is condoning what happened as it was clearly out of line.
However the faux outrage is quite galling. The only reason this story was in the media is the fact he is a 5 times all Ireland winner. Plenty similar situations go unpunished every weekend in every major Irish city. If we were to jail everybody for what KH did, our jails wouldn’t be long being overcrowded..
No, he is a thug because he has no remorse. People like that don't just do something like this once.
Mod Edit
Warning issued.
My father is from Limerick.
There a good team nobodies denying that.
I've relatives amd their attitude to the whole thing was shur JP will look after him anyway. They honestly think it's normal and a bit of a joke.
Do I think Kyle's actions on the night were wrong? Yes.
Do I think he should banished from society? Not really however his behaviour lack of taking responsibility and remorse after the incident is what really let's him down.
I hope the victim gets the help he need.
I also think Kyle needs looking after regarding his generally attitude on the night, his relationship with alcohol if it was involved and how he's handled himself at court.
That's all that matters really , this drive for 5 drivel.
The only ones that are going on about the drive for 5 are the few clowns that are in here
Possibly, but sometimes a thing like this can spread toxicity within the camp. Even if just 1 or 2 members have reservations on Hayes's or Kiely's behaviour that could do a lot of damage.
Everyone in the camp is not going to be an idiot, some will know that reputations have been damaged and all that stand by the two men will also have their reputation damaged.
And you're good enough to win without him. Fair play to you for saying that.
Jesus that is some horse ****.
You obviously don't know anything about Cody and what he stands for.
Kiely seems particularly clueless about the optics of leaving this excuse of a human being back on the team. As you mention several of his team mates are not going to want anything to do with him again or even talk to him. That kind of atmosphere will definitely have an affect on the flow and camaraderie during crucial matches. If they don't get their precious 5 in a row this year, it will be interesting to see if Hayes still has a future on the team.
He needs a few weeks away from the back slappers in his local pub, the stadium and Limerick in general to realise how absolutely insignificant he really is. A mere trip to the UK would even be enough to bury any notions he has to ask that famous question don't you know who I am!
They scrapped out of Munster last year. On any given day one of Cork, Tipp, Clare, Kilkenny and possibly Galway can beat them. Bigger favourites have fallen in sport.
I was often full as a bingo bus and never went assaulting people. So can I throw the first stone?
The microcosm of a sports team can be very dangerous.
How many times have we heard we don't listen to what's said in the media, we focus on our own qualities, our game and what we bring to the table. Words to that effect. That focus on the group leads to successful teams. However, in some situations it's dangerous. The likes of Kiely and Hayes have filtered everything out so successfully that they've lost touch with what people think outside the Limerick hurling team bubble. Anything they here is the adulation of sycophantic fans.
Anything negative is just outsiders trying to bring them down.
Don't get sucked in.only our dear rosita could turn this into an opportunity to insult kilkenny people
Ditto. Never ever felt need to assault anyone in my life.
I am not surprised Kyle Hayes didn't get any jail time..it was his first offence..as despicable as it was..I do think the general public would have a better opinion of him if he had put his hands up like a man and admitted it. Its the same for kiely .it would be very understandable if kiely had stood behind a young man who was sorry for doing something wrong..its completely different when he is pleading not guilty.
I don't think it will. They're in a bubble where they're champions. Anything outside of that bubble won't impact them. It's that kind of confidence and belief that would have helped them to plead not guilty and just rock up to court and say what they believe. Even Kiely getting up pulled up by the solicitor/judge, it won't take a fonk out of them. Right now, they're invincible. And getting the verdict they wanted will only help them believe that more. They've got a billionaire behind them and they're winning all around them.
This particular poster always has to have a cut off kk ,was banned from the kk thread seems to have a peculiar negative obsession with kk and the success under Cody ,sad really
If the rest of the country didn't want them to be bet before this, then they definitely will now.
I also suspect the white glove treatment they get from the refs will also change on foot of this.
I can't believe as a Galwayman who went to UL I'm saying this, but I'd prefer KK or Tipp to win at this point. Limerick are at this point the encapsulation of the phrase 'you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain'.
Chill Guys the right guy is in jail 🤪
We will see.... The weight of history and all of this needless attention on the team. We will see how they deal with it when it comes down to it. Pox lucky to get out of Munster last year.
These colleagues seemed happy enough to hurl a League match with him a few weeks against Dublin. Not sure why they'd have turned against him in the meantime.
Pox luck ?
That is true. That's why I used the word "speculation". It'd be easier if people actually read posts before replying.
If you think this is even on the same planet.
Enoch Burke has a moral compass and a strength in his beliefs.
Hayes / Kiely haven't a shred of morality or backbone between them.
Hayes waving at idiots in cars beeping him outside the court last Wednesday, that says it all.
Yes pox lucky
Any relation to Kyle?
Brothers.
Brothers
They are getting a good roasting by Kilkenny now. Hope it continues.
