We have, I think he should have gone to jail too though obviously. That garlic case was a fairly huge fraud, the initial sentence was also massively cut.
It was the victim who suffered stress after the crime.
The victim had been selling it because he was “in dire need of money” to cover financial difficulties, resulting in suffering stress after the crime.

Watching Judge Judy the other day and a ruffian had done similar, mugged some people. He was sentenced to 18 months' jail or 3 months and paying full restitution and compensation. He was given some time to pay - at the end he'd not even tried - and went to jail. I would happily see something along those lines here - we have pay into the poor box and walk free!
what’s the reason for Martin Nolan issuing so many suspended sentences. Is he following a rule book of what he can give in certain cases? It seems bizarre that he is so lenient on clearly extremely dangerous people who are a threat to children. I mean this guy had no previous criminal convictions but just imagine the other stuff he likely done. Maybe he’s mentally unwell but if that’s the case send him into a padded room.

Sometimes there are no words. Ireland's justice system is a shambles, sexually abuse an infant and be out in a few years. 40 year's wouldn't be enough for this animal.

Jamie Marshall, with an address in Limerick city, pleaded guilty to knowingly possessing child pornography, knowingly producing child pornography, knowingly distributing child pornography; defilement of a child; and using communication technology to facilitate the sexual exploitation of a child, on or before 30 December 2020.
Judge Tom O'Donnell lifted reporting restrictions to allow Marshall to be identified.
He said Marshall was entitled to "credit" on his sentence for pleading guilty to all of the charges at the earliest opportunity, for fully co-operating with the garda investigation, and for having been in custody awaiting sentence since 2 May 2023. He had not taken up bail.
However, the judge said he had to impose an immediate custodial sentence, and he described Marshall’s behaviour as "appalling, vile, egregious, and despicable".
That 4 year sentence is appalling. The poor baby and mother. Can it be appealed at all?
These kinds of sentences make me realise that this "nation" is a big sick joke.
Wouldn't give up his other paedo mates either who were sharing sick videos and the victims in them have yet to be identified. Serious serious questions need to be asked of that judge and how the hell he can allow "credit" to the scumbag when sentencing. That **** WILL reoffend, no question.

The DPP can review it as being too lenient and put it back before a different judge for sentencing. That one is particularly dreadful, I would really hope it is reviewed.

Mothers rarely ever held to account in these type crimes against children. He's an absolute scumbag, but she is the mother, and she allowed this scumbag access to that poor baby.
Who's to say that they weren't related? He had done a lot of crime of course but this particular crime, I think was his first. He should rot in prison for years.

If I could explain: one scenario/example: mother of my child decided to leave our 1 year old son in the care of her brother (with his 100 convictions) I’d be appalled.
