The Guardian is reporting this evening that three men wearing camouflaged outfits administered open gunfire among people at a Concert Hall in Moscow.
There's are reports of an explosion carried at the venue as well. I don't know how heavy the explosion at the moment. But reports suggests it could be a very serious one.
No reports of any injuries so far.

Funny how certain racist types always make assumptions - which nearly always end up being utterly wrong
Wow...steady on with the vitriolic comments.
But you are speculating…don’t lie. You were delighted to speculate.
Do you have a blue check?
12 people killed so far at the venue according to the latest update from the BBC.
There are a total of 50 ambulances being sent to the Concert Hall which may indicate more casualties are to come from this serious incident later.
40 dead.
What's this insight about.
Id say the death and injury toll will be far far higher. As per video from up high and at a distance they just mowed people down with large amount of rounds

Daresay we won't know more about this for a while, and whatever the Russian govt says about it will be open to doubt. Commiserate for the innocent dead.
interestingly the US Embassy in Moscow flagged this March 7th
If anyone knows the finer points on this, it would be JorJorWell!
This would be really insightful if initial fingers werent pointing at ISIS / Islamic Extremists as per the advisory issued by the US Embassey in Moscow a few hours ago, but don't let your blinkered racism get in the way of a good rant.
That is interesting, but I don't want to speculate in this thread, yet.
If Ukrainian forces either military or a group acting independently are to blame, what do they think Russia's reaction might be ?
A) hmmm we'd rather you hadn't done that but while your anger might be justified we'd ask you to refrain from further attacks....
or
B) well that was unexpected, let's get revenge, knuckle down, bombard, and destroy areas in the Ukraine, kill more Ukranian people for X days....
Dublincc2 is doing enough speculating for everyone.
Checken separatists did this before in a theatre in 2002 and Beslan in 2005.
All kinds of rumours flying around it seems. One way or another it's awful to see innocent people slaughtered like this no matter what.
Depends who you ask, and there is yet any evidence Chechens are involved here.
Yeah, they don't seem to be like Hammas where they don't care about their own civilians.
Timing is everything. Putin just re-elected and Kremlin only today now officially calling the Ukraine invasion a war. Full mobilisation imminent imo.
That's just from when Spetznaz attempted to free the hostages.
God love them, RIP
We there ever be peace
Helluva recruitment gift for Putin
I've no doubt this will be blamed on Ukraine with little evidence to back it up and used to encourage mobilisation of those previously on the fence about fighting.
Russia did bring this onto themselves if this attack is linked to the invasion of Ukraine. I take no pleasure in seeing innocent people being killed, but when you start a war be prepared to deal with the consequences of your actions. The poor people here like the people in Ukraine are victims of Putin and his actions imo.
Some video now online of one of the shooters being arrested at the scene. Islamic terrorists don't tend to surrender for questioning.
concerts are a popular isis target - could be islamic seperatists using ukraine to restart their independence claims
Very, very suss. How is it the yanks announced last week that this might happen but the KGBand Russian police weren’t able to prevent it? One would almost think they wanted it to happen…
Russia’s foreign ministry spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, has called on the international community to condemn the “monstrous crime” following the gun attacks at a concert hall near Moscow, Reuters reports.
I immediately thought of the 1999 Moscow apartment bombings which were blamed on Chechen rebels
