Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
I'll drink to that, Seath.
Big enough act for Marquee
Off to Workmans tonight. Should be fun
Yeah think he has a sold out 3 arena show tomorrow. So it is a good grab for cork for venue 1/4 size
Hi,
I'm living in Galway. I like Merc Rev, Weddos, Fontains DC, Lemonheads, BDB, Sinead (from 1st list). Like indie, likes of The National, Pixies, Smiths, Cocteau Twins, MBV etc.
From this list & based on above which would you recommend from below please?
Coming up are Muireann Bradley (€16), Sprints/Chalk (€14), Cardinals (€10), Cinder Well (€17), Bluetones (€22), Basht (free), Coach Party (€6, half-price), Havvk/Shark School (€12), Jane Weaver (€23), Cass McCombs (€21), Arborist (€11) and Miles Kane (€24).
Have a great one, and feedback please. Feels like these guys are on a roll so I’ve no idea why they’re doing a small (and free) midnight gig at the Róísín tomorrow. Some other decent bands have played that slot recently but Basht have more buzz and could probably sell 100-150 tickets. Hopefully their merch stall does well. I’ll be at it if there.
Havvk/ Shark School
Jane Weaver
Sprints/Chalk
Coach Party
And check out Basht for the midnight freebie tomorrow though it could get very busy.
Best seats now €345(+fees). Crap seats €270...they've got what they looking for and they're coming for more.
Flyte and Madison Cunningham have just announced a pop up gig in Workmans this day week. Cunningham is over here supporting John Mayer. https://twitter.com/singularartists/status/1770859048914600141?t=7ELS9TEJR0LDPJZxT5QNRg&s=19
If you fancy something a bit delicate, Cinder Well and Arborist both decent aswell, Arborist supported the Delines last time they were over and I caught 3 or 4 songs from Cinder Well at EOTR, very nice.
Didnt realise the capacity of the 3Arena was 20k.
€345 for seats that are eleven rows from the front of the tiered seating...
Nobody is going to pay that, its bizarre.
You'd be surprised.
I really hope this doesnt sell out because otherwise these prices will become the norm soon.
Guessing they'll play Dublin too, I'll keep an eye out.
The last two shows here were fantastic. I think the Philophobia one was last year.
Great band.
Absolutely crazy prices. Are they the most expensive gig tickets here this year/ever? Madness
You can get a whole music festival for those prices...
Not sure what is the record for grossing show there? Eagles maybe?
Taylor Swift wants a word...
Great to get a recommendation for Cinder Well. I like the little I’ve heard but I’m really going along on the recommendation of pals.
Arborist I caught a few years ago supporting Seamus Fogarty and he was really good. This time he’s got a band with him and it could be very good. Kim Deal played and sang on his debut album 7/8 years ago so that’s one hell of an endorsement.
Friend of mine is going to see her in Edinburgh. Her mate is travelling over from Singapore to the gig and didn't want to be at it alone so is subsidising the £700 ticket.
Back in the not insanely priced world which I've been keeping an eye on - Dweezil Zappa has just announced a US tour for the first time in four years playing his genius fathers music but no European dates yet. D.R.I (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) seem to be playing mostly Central Europe for their 40th anniversary tour so looking very unlikely they will be here.
Missed last 2 shows....post here if yea hear of a Dublin date or others around the country please
Great gig, support band (Ten Hail Marys) was decent too. Is there anything better than a band with a proper rhythm and lead player who both know what they’re doing? Wild Horses just an epic song. Did 14 songs, really impressive overall. Suppose it’ll be on to their debut album after this and who knows where that’ll take them.
Had a few t-shirts and posters at the merch table
Great to hear. I caught them at EP and very impressive but it’s often hard to gauge how good a young band are by a shortish festival set. Thanks for the review.
Would love if Dweezil announced a show here
Currently €302 for a standing ticket for Stevie Nicks.
Nuts.
Its all going perfectly to plan for Ticketmaster, good man Noel Rock and Leo.
I was number 6xx in the queue for the regular sale for Stevie Nicks at noon today, and no tickets are available apparently, so I didn't have the pleasure of wrestling as to whether I'd pay that cost.
Spot on!
Dynamic pricing/V.I.P. Tickets are alot worse price wise than touting ever was and wide spread scamming is a million times worse as well since that Anti-Tout Bill was brought in as well!
Sure the normal price for alot of high profile concerts now are alot higher than what touts would of charged!
Works out at about 18 euro per song, her setlist is ~17 songs, only 5 of which are Fleetwood Mac songs.
She has almost no stage presence nowadays, just stands at the mic for the whole night.
In artists eyes they are capturing the true value of their art by charging prices that touts use to get.
