My Grandad (who was at one time a pastry chef) made the best meringues - crisp on the outside, with a gorgeous, sweet, sticky-chewy centre!

On the bus home from another very busy day at work. Had a guest lecturer In to give a presentation to my third years and despite some initial IT glitches went very well.
He was my first proper boss starting out in my career in academia 25 years ago and a fantastic mentor to me. The class were impressed and very interested - and some of my students even asked him questions! 😊😁
Very surprised at the news about Leo V stepping down with his huge ego...can't be about the referendum?
My take is there are many not standing for reelection and politically he has nothing left to give with no backing. Exit honorably without scandal and enjoy pension and minor roles.
Ideally he'd go back to being a medical doctor but I can't imagine so

Ooo baked potato one of my favourites but I scarcely make them 🤣
I love them with chilli mince tbh it’s delightful. If spice isn’t for you, try with paprika instead.
it’s a simple dish so keep it simple is how I’ve always thought of it. If you go a bit mad you sort of overshadow the potato 🤣
if you wanted to try something a bit “out there” buffalo mozzarella and homemade baked beans is absolutely delightful. If you can get a hold of a can of haricot beans and some passata and seasonings you can make lovely homemade baked beans in the time it’ll take to make the potato’s.
Bacon, coleslaw and grated cheddar cheese. Two slices of homemade brown loaf. A little side salad on the side. Job done!

Breakfast - painkillers and tae
Kit the cat pictured here with Alfie has died, they were the best of friends and now they are back together again. They loved their walks together and it’s fairly rare to see a terrier and cat get along so well. It’s 1 month since Alfie left us 💔
That's so sad. They were great buddies. It's really very unusual for a terrier to get on with a cat. Beautiful colours on the both of them. How old was the cat ?
I think she was in or around the 14-16 year mark, she was the neighbours cat but practically lived at our house. Alfie was too busy sniffing to be chasing cats 😄 He had no interest in them.
That's a good age. Both had good ages. ❤️
