What about a loop around the Loop head ,I can see it from the back door
If money and mobility no option, I’d go to scattery island.(3hours- think €30 pp)
the rural museum in kilrush.
vandeleur walled gardens are nice in Summer- €7 entry. But free into garden centre/coffee area and then nice walks around.
then the little ark in kilbaha church is a nice quick stop off- there’s a grave of the yellow men around there too.
and finish in loop head lighthouse. Think that’s about €5/6 to go in.
food wise- the long dock in carrigaholt is supposed to be good.
i like the food in armada but that’s up the road a bit.
realistically that’s 2 days of stuff if you included scattery island.
if children are involved- all above are decent with playgrounds in Kilmihil, lisseycasey or cappagh in kilrush.
Labasheeda has a pottery cafe where you buy bits and paint them but if far away, I dunno do they post them when fired.
I beter book fast after your glourious marketing ,smashing place!!
It all depends on the interest. You could spend half a day in the museum in kilrush if there was nobody dragging you away,
I found that visiting counties- every where has something to do.
The last time I went to Scattey was in the late 1960s and was lucky we didn’t get drowned on the way back. But that's a story for another day.
Was hoping to get back for the opening of the museum but not able to make it.
Good grub in the haven arms Kilrush as well.
What can we expect, could be free Easter Eggs for everyone.
Leo stepping down as leader and Simon stepping in?
If it did happen in fairness it wouldn't be no face lost by Leo. He's given a long time of it now as leader of FG.
If they don't go back to more traditional roots and outside working Dublin then the votes will be taken by these new independent groupings popping up.
Yea would not be surprised at all if it was Leo stepping down. He is not much use as a political leader for FG. He doesn’t have the pull for voters.
also he prefers the international stage like the USA last week. He will get a high profile UN or EU job.
or it could be about the assisted dying proposals.
Confirmed on local radio station that Leo is stepping down as Taoiseach and leader of FG.
He always struck me as a lazy posh-boy with no real interest in getting anything done.
I'm guessing Simon Coveney or Pascal Donaghue are the front runners to replace him.
Think Simon Coveny is a bit more dynamic to get things done. A bit more grounded than Leo.
pascal is also very smart .
so where will Leo end up ?
I always turn the tv over when he comes on. Will be no tv on today as he'll be all over it. All talk and no action
Latest
Most of the Cabinet act as if they are long bored off the job, no passion, no work ethic, no interest but they like being Ministers and the profile etc.
He should of got a few months alone for not pleading guilty and bringing the thing to trial, he's a proper scumbag, the story about the other incident with a high profile hurler is alot worse if that lad escapes a prison sentence it's a joke
I was just reading that. The law is different for our sports stars.
And he was a poor talker at that.
You'd wonder if there's a real reason for him going now? Or is it as innocent as the talking heads on RTE are suggesting?
Michael McDowell and Verona Murphy are tonight launching their independent alliance grouping nationwide in Enniscorthy in the Riverside hotel.
The whole thing was to capitalise on the referendum result and get the people out who would be traditional FG supporters in the southeast who are getting dissillusioned by south Dublin Green politics.
Now that Leo has stepped down. The wind has been taken out of Verona's sails somewhat that the government are not listening and oblivious to the people. I'd say only half the people that were thinking of going to the launch tonight will now turn up.
Bad news for the metro if Michael mcdowell holds the balance of power or is anywhere involved in the govt.
Yea , a journalist that was with him in America said earlier in the week he wasn't himself over there so maybe there's something deeper.
Held the view that he was very slippy.
This is what OH calls him any time he sees him on the telly.
But you don't understand he plays hurling, our native sport. He'll have to kill someone before he gets locked up. Will he ever play for Limerick again? He'll get booed if he does.
I wouldn’t put my money on him not playing again. The words of a mother who’s young son was killed by an ex Munster player come to mind.
Kiely played him while he was awaiting sentencing so I'd say he will play him again.
It’s not what you know it’s who you know. From what I’ve been told there’s been plenty of work done in the background by who he knows too.
Kicking and jumping on someone’s head when they’re in the foetal position on the ground should be tried as attempted murder if you ask me.
A disgusting scumbag is all Hayes is and hopefully Limerick hurling do the right thing now and tell him his services are no longer required. It’s not as if they won’t be successful without him anyway.
No one player is bigger than the team. No example to be setting to young players that you more or less get off for such behaviour.
just read that story about the Munster player Eddie Halvey... my god a 7month suspended sentence and a 7 year driving ban for a guy who was as drunk as an ass while driving... as bad as Hayes incident is.. at least the guy beaten up recovered... and Hayes was 19 at the time... still young and stupid... Halvey should have been locked up for life... how a guy like him can walk around freely and face the people everyday after killing a young lad i dont know...
If he has those kind of connections and is an All-Ireland winner, it’s only a matter of time before FG ask him to join the party and run for election 😂
We'll see will it be different for the brothers in his family....same story diff outcome no doubt
