Aside from the morality of it all, I don't think it would work. As the elites don't care about ordinary Russians dying
What would be far more effective is if Vlad's cronies started seeing loyalty to him was dangerous to their health. In that scenario someone might be minded to move against him.
True enough and the current policy of attacking their oil will pay off in the long term and even medium term....

To add to that:
Russia/its elites still sees itself as deserving of being a world power - & saw conquering Ukraine as an important stepping-stone to achieving that/ reestablishing the Russian empire/overturning the post WW2 international order.
Furthermore over the last 20 years, they saw that there was only a relatively short window of opportunity where demographics & (oil/gas based) economy would permit Russia to do so.
Adding to that, Putin got older and starts thinking of his place in the history of Russia -and started comparing himself to previous Tsars etc.
Now additionally, the Russian society/economy has been built around war- and it is not clear if it is possible for them to step back from that without facing internal collapse.
Pretty graphic video of good few Russian soldiers being attacked via Ukraine Drone Company -
I watch a lot of his videos. I'm actually amazed that he's still active and also amazed that some people are willing to give pretty honest opinions to him. In a recent video he was asking people about voting intentions. He said that only 2 people he interviewed who admitted that they were not voting for Putin were willing to speak on camera and then showed interviews with them. If I were in their shoes - no way would I give an interview like that.
He also interviews all the old codgers who parrot the pro-Kremlin lines they see on Russian TV which is kinda depressing.
In our future perhaps
THE year is 2027. Vladimir Putin has emerged victorious in Ukraine and launched his much-feared invasion of the Baltics, sending columns of tanks over the border.
Military experts told The Sun that hundreds of soldiers fighting to defend Nato territory would be killed every day, with the battles being as "brutal and as bloody" as in the Ukraine war.
For those soldiers who survive an artillery strike, they would be left screaming on the battlefield for hours with "nowhere to go" because medics can't reach them.
Some "journalist" at the S*n has clearly watched that crappy video that someone posted here a few days back.
Well, shur what happens in 2027 no one knows now, but The Sun's take could happen just as many other guesses
Still as accurate and relevant now as it was back then I think.
Any chance of a hint as to what this is about?
It's video created via a game showing attacks on a bridge & ship. Even it wasn't immediately obvious that it's a game, it would be a bit sus given that the aircraft doesn't release its weapon until it's a few hundred yards from the ship.
Read the description under the video -

I didn't click the link because there was no description of what it is about.
Ouch ..
Anyone think Ukraine will go for a summer offensive? I hope they focus everything on the southern line. Without attacking the east like last summer you'd imagine they'd make more gains this time around especially if they get western fighter jets.
If they could take a chunk of Crimea & then destroy the Kerch, they would have a good bargaining chip.
Depends. I seriously doubt they'll be doing anything but holding the line without the American package coming through. If they get that 60 billion then things open up again.
Fully defensive mode this year while degrading Russian logistics should be the plan until the West and the US finally wake up.
From what I have read, it's a defensive posture this year. The prospects for 2025, will depend on how the West comes through. Things like 152/155mm shells and the oft mentioned F16s.
Is there a credible source for this?
Like everyone else is saying: Ukraine will do well to hold on to what it has this year and try and weaken Russia by striking oil depots, maybe the occasional ship or air fleet as happens every few months. Chances of taking back significant amount of territory are pretty much zero, barring a miracle
It's a war of attrition, the Russians spent many years in Afghanistan and Chechnya, before those wars ended, does not matter the outcome of each war they stuck it out. Nothing short of invasion of Russia by NATO will change the outcome of this type of war and western powers are not running a war economy. yet! Ukraine has no path to victory against Russia without manpower from NATO countries and at this stage their morale is low and there may well be significant collapse of some of the Ukrainian lines as that situation deteriorates. Like it or not the Ukrainian government will have to accept their losses and cut a deal. Obviously, an open full-on conflict between Russia and NATO would inflict huge damage. The Russians political game is to feed the wound just enough to cause pain that saps strength, but not enough to provoke a massive response. Outcome for Russian leaders of an ugly victory is not good either, they they have to deal over the following years with domestic issues that they have been suppressing.
Zaluzhnyi argued that ineffective sanctions allow the defense industrial bases (DIBs) of Russia and its partners to support a positional war of attrition that benefits Russia over Ukraine and that Russia has a significant advantage over Ukraine in the mobilization of human resources source
The Attritional Art of War: Lessons from the Russian War on Ukraine
Attritional wars require their own ‘Art of War’ and are fought with a ‘force-centric’ approach, unlike wars of manoeuvre which are ‘terrain-focused’. They are rooted in massive industrial capacity to enable the replacement of losses, geographical depth to absorb a series of defeats, and technological conditions that prevent rapid ground movement. In attritional wars, military operations are shaped by a state’s ability to replace losses and generate new formations, not tactical and operational manoeuvres. The side that accepts the attritional nature of war and focuses on destroying enemy forces rather than gaining terrain is most likely to win.
The West is not prepared for this kind of war. source
Here is a view from Poland via google translate
"We need to get ready." Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak on the threat of war
We need to get ready - this is what General Rajmund Andrzejczak said about the threat of war. The former chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army said in "Guest of Events" that we have two or three years to prepare. The general also pointed to the difficult situation in Kiev. - The Ukrainians are losing this war - he noted. source
Ah our local Russian sympathiser! I'd love to know who hands you your scripts.
You surely didn't make up all that babble by yourself did you? You could be so much more than this!! It's not effort that's lacking that's for sure.
X isn't a credible source 🤣
Seriously though the amount of these false links that end up on this thread is wild. I've read several in the last few days that are just plain BS. The gullibility of people never ceases to amaze.
Chuck Pfarrer is usually solid. He is Former SEAL Team 6 Squadron Leader and does shows and comments regularly on Mriya Report.

Looks like https://twitter.com/JayinKyiv/ .. Another US guy who does fair bit on Mriya Report took the post down on this event.
X itself isn't the problem, but yes there is a history of wild claims being posted here then turning out to be nonsense. I didn't know who this Chuck person was and when I saw nothing about it on any news outlet I became sceptical...
How it started,
How it's going
The precision now from these drone attacks on the field is something else. Then there's the different ordnance used from mines to shells to incendiary devices. Barely thought of at the start of the war with just the Bayraktar. To now drones like wasps able to fly into any opening with a bomb attached.
Then the sea drones sinking ships of millions of euros worth.
And now even land based tracked drones thought of for attack and ferrying wounded out.
