Didn’t know it was bright at a quarter to eight…
We dont have lights on in our new milking parlour these days. It's bright enough at 6.30am. Could feel the sun shining through the sides this morning. Skylights on both sides
Are you a school teacher?
next new moon 8th April... hopefully it might bring a change in the weather
I think he is referring to new moon falling on Saturdays or a day either side of Saturday, bringing inclement weather.
Brutal night here. Wind and rain, just in out of it after a new arrival.
Same and cold too.
So much for the sunshine and showers Met promissed. Today was the worse yet, looking out at it all afternoon, gutters overflowing the downpours were so heavy.
Must be heading for the wettest spring on record. and the blackest too. Ground is in absolute shite and the cattle haven't even been let out yet.
Maybe wishful thinking but thought ground wasn't as wet on surface after the rain that fell in the last few days compared to couple of weeks ago. Maybe with grass starting to grow a bit its soaking up more?
After lashing rain here this morning and wasn't forecasted at all.
Weather for Monday now looks like a complete washout aswell
10 years ago these days since storm Darwin. Did fair damage around here.
Looking like a late spring, plenty silage for sale around here though way more than other years, I wonder why that is.
Numbers of Suckler cows dropping through the floor is one big factor anyway.
I was kinda thinking the same thing
There was a fair amount of pure shhhit made in 23, with the weather.
A lad near me was in the acres that he could not cut till the first of July. With the weather, it was left till the end of September.
You would want to open a couple
Glas....... Finished last yr
Silage and hay could not be taken on many fields. Topped into the ground.
I'd been hoping that we d get a bit of weather this week as there was talk of a high pressure building but tomorrow and Saturday dryish but Sunday and next week is f##ked.
Going by the long range forecast the rest of March is controlled by a large are of low pressure centred over the us so will be no real dry weather. Signs of high pressure building in at the start of April and things settling down which would be good, need the ground to dry out.
I see plenty of tankers going around yesterday, is there much hope of putting out slurry over the weekend or will be be washed away next week?
Windy dry day here with the odd shower
Sunny with the odd light shower of rain but we had a good downpour of hailstones a few minutes ago.
Ground and grass straighten up alot this time of year regardless.
But it certainly is pushing it
Some amount of wind, rain with bits of sunshine
Serious rain last night. I was up twice checking cows due to calf and it was torrential.
Weather is promissed broke for another 10+ days going by the forecast.
Get back to us when you have some good news
12mm here in 24hrs, nothing coming long range unfortunately.
Squeaky bum time fast approaching.
Travelled alot of mid& west cork yesterday...no cows out
I have the heaviest ones out on a dry 4 acres, running out of feed fast & the back wall of alot of pits are appearing.
Hopper of a hailstone shower here, tis bitterly cold, nothing new for March I suppose
Fevking NE wind would skin u. Was at boys soccer match this morn and froze from it. Lambing at moment and shred faces east. 99% of the year it’s perfect but last 3 matches we have got a NE wind just at lambing time
Bitter cold March day. Not much grass growing.
No but at least it’s drying out a bit
