Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
I'd love to see her but holy cow that's expensive
I was at the LG+JS gig Saturday night. Have to say I really enjoyed it, obviously the set list was minimal but it definitely worked as a live performance.
I would definitely go see them again. I think the venue had a big part to play in it.
Hope so considering name of tour (cos farewell tours are legitimate binding things you know)
Wonder if there’ll be a European leg
Extensive US/Canada tour announced, running from the end of August to the end of October.
Interesting, I wonder if they've set sights on Ballinlough Castle again, that will be a loss for them at Belvedere House that was a great venue for the festival with the lakeside.
ELO have some sort of announcement later one, be nice if they announced another gig here
Hoping we get a late announcement for Glasto when she sells out the gigs
€100-€250 for tickets
Sorry I had the year wrong. But Olympia installed the barriers back then, the reasons given was risk of a smashing pumpkins happening in the Olympia. The slope and insurance also factors.
the ambassador never had a pit but it was far wider and didn’t have the pinch point of the boxes that Olympia has which makes it more dangerous.
even with the pit barriers the areas around the foot of boxes can be a tight squeeze on sold out shows.
people getting downstairs was also an issue but they are more strict on that for last decade plus
Dont listen to them Fanirish. I think it’s a jealousy thing …….
FanIrish has an answer for everything, most of the answers are mittyesque.
LIFE festival moving to September and a new location.

My son’s there. I love the bone shaking similarities to our taste in music but don’t think I could handle a whole gig of him.
What are you on about ? A fan died at a gig in the point in 1996. Nothing to do with the olympia or 1997 ?? There is a pit section in the olympia but none that I have seen in vicar St. or the 3 arena for most of the gigs (if not all) iv been to, even though the their floor space seems bigger.
To conclude I like fanirish haven't got a proper answer as to why theres a pit area in the olympia but I'd suspect the slope maybe part of the reason.
Ha ha, I'm definitely in the older (and let's say correct) category
I'm intrigued by that too, I wouldn't have thought so but they're playing arenas in the UK too so maybe. I can never judge these things anymore 🤣
Right side of the line from our perspective as in better taste in music or better from their perspective as in we're essentially coffin dodgers by now?
Speaking of which, will Nick be an instant sell out?
The people going to that will be looking at the listings thinking "who the hell is Nick Cave". Just got to accept there's a line between us and them, and know that we're the right side of that line 😉
Speaking of which, why hasn't that got its own thread yet? Bear with me...
Considering I think I'm now on a list just for standing at the Luas stop across from his fans, I'm okay not knowing that.
Sold out in minutes! Biggest Irish DJ at the moment
Some lad called BLK. is playing the 3 arena tonight and I can safely say I have never heard him, read about him or even saw him on a playlist, but it's sold out.
I'm old.,...
One them special edition ones ok must have been messing
Was giving out to some lad in the Stone Roses Man United shirt right in front of me
Interesting, didn’t know that before. So it’s just precautionary and nothing to do with events in the Olympia?
Tickets available for Elbow at Trinity College, 1 July. If the weather is nice, it'll be a wonderful gig.
Liam best bit of giving out has to be in Slane supporting REM in 1995. Lads were lobbing stuff up at him on stage, and he stopped mid song a number of times, he was properly pissed off and nearly walked. Still played an incredible set.
So impressed that, even with Oasis having blown the crowd away, REM came on and took it to another level, still ranks as the best stadium show I was ever at.
Yes the standing was a bonus .as sitting room isn't the best. Even met a Beady eye fan , there is one left.
It was really annoying about the sound on Jake though
Liam gave out to some lad near the end there needs to be some public order or something what happened
Smashing pumpkins death in 1997
