Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

A radio presenter should keep their general communication skills and their ability to engage with the listener perfectly maintained. It should be viewed as being just as important as keeping adequate levels of engine oil in one's vehicle.
To fly over water by chopper you need escape training and wear special gear, unless it’s a large pax chopper as used in Isles of Scilly. However he could have been choppered to Gloucester airfield, and flown by private jet to Weston.
John Creedon is a naturally curious man with a good intellect and a real way of engaging the average listener. He can turn his hand to discussing music, history, culture… he would have a few racing legends in his head. Versatile broadcaster.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but I’ve just noticed over the last few weeks a few articles published by Extra.ie (which is owned by the Mail group I believe) about Patrick Kielty’s LLS losing viewers lately with latest headline for example “Late Late Show concerns mount as viewers continue to tune out” along with the tagline “It’s not looking good for Kielty” on the Extra.ie Facebook link to the article.
I wonder are they publishing these articles to indirectly boost readership of RT’s weekly Mail on Sunday column..?

No doubt. One of the ongoing underground campaigns to diss a lot of entities formerly connected with Tubridy that are now not-Tubridy, in a desperate effort to put some kind of glow around the lacklustre broadcaster.
No conspiracy here. It's all true.
NK feeds extra.ie and similar media outlets all sorts of stuff over the year; photo shoots with 'the stars', interviews with them, gossip on other stars and so on. It's all free content for the likes of extra.ie and they don't have to put in any legwork getting these articles.
NK is now just calling in many favours, hoping to get PK out and one of his minions in the LLS seat. We're a small country, so can be a bit incestuous like that.
No idea how NK got away with it for so long, he should be grateful he got 20 years out of non-talents like Tubridy, Duffy and many others, but I suppose he has bills to pay and one day wants to hand the 'dynasty' over to his offspring.

Problem here is that minor outlets (and major) have forgotten journalism and opted for free biased content.
There are lots of choice words for 150KTubs.
Incompetent, chancer, grifter, narcissistic, ......the words flow.
Pay the Irish Taxpayer (via RTE) and allow me to purge myself of his annoying existence. As previously said , until he pays the 150k back to the Irish people, he's pocketed our money and f him .

It was a very public service, the general public were invited to commiserate with Claire, Tiger etc. Tubs would have had to take his place in the queue with Joe Public, he would have been very exposed.

Indeed. He is out of his element on two fronts. He knows zilch about horse racing or competitive sport in general and on top of that, he can't really get in on the #bantz of a major sporting event because drinking, betting and the general millieu of being out and about in a throng of racegoers is probably not something he relishes at all. I mean he will put on a passable impression of enthusiasm but it's just not him at all.

I have no doubt Tubs would jump at any job offer from rte. He'd crawl back on his hands and knees to accept it.
