Apologies, I meant Feb 24th 2022 of course. It'd be hard to argue the annexation of Crimea and the unrest in the Donbas region were "all out war" but the full blown invasion certainly counts as such. Just like his friend Trump can claim his "two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart" when the rest of the world knows him to be a sexist, paedophilic, grifting rapist, Putin can claim his war is a "Special Military Operation" all he likes, anyone with a brain in their head knows it's an all out war being lost by a deranged megalomaniac.
Some interesting statistics
Homicide. A national sport in Russia - Homicide rate in Europe | TheGlobalEconomy.com
Completely off topic, but I'm quite surprised to see every single Nordic / Scandinavian country in the Top 10 of highest amount of reported sexual violence; kinda immediately begs the question about their culture and WTF is going on. I can see why Stig Larsen made a point of writing about it back in the day.
But then is it more saying that Nordics will report the crimes, cos the key word there is "reported" - and that other countries have a problem with hidden violence & a reluctance by women to report it. Yeesh, quite the depressing rabbit hole to go down there.
Glad somebody is finally calling out that fat troll publicly without pulling punches.
From February 2024
Alot of history behind this current war caused by Russia. To history we should look, as it helps us understand better whats going on currently. Wars like this didnt just start or happen out of the blue in the last few years.
For the history behind all this, particularly where UKRAINE & russia is concerned, Timothy Snyder is your man:

He writes great articles on SUB STACK and also has a complete free course about UKRAINE on Youtube:

I thought the same as you and have read those great books by Steig Larssen also. But I think you hit the nail on the head when you pointed out the important word there being "reported". I suspect that reporting of sexual violence in many east European countries is a lot less frequent for example.
That's new
And speaking of history in the region nearest russia - ESTONIA. Film called The Singing Revolution
It's very unusual lol

There have been so many rumours of big announcements over the last two years, from full conscription to martial law to "Belarus will enter the war on Friday" almost every Friday through 2022...none of it happened. I doubt this weekend will see a bombshell announcement either. In a way I think Putin is happiest if he just gets quietly "reelected" with very little fanfare and not much attention paid to the whole inevitable event
Here is an interesting thought related to this @rogber
Whats going on now inside russia's belgarod region - Kozinka. It seems to be reported by RUSSIAN NEWS AGENCIES / TELEGRAM who are accusing Ukraine Army infiltrating and fighting in that region.
As we have seen in the past .. lets say this is in fact a RUSSIAN false flag fake event to justify something else in the coming days like a battlefield nuke perhaps? Justification - our homeland was attacked
russian election results just in :D
Think you mean bracing and not braising. You never know in modern societies though where anything goes.
Ah jaysus .. yes, bracing :D
No, the A bomb will not be used any time soon. If / when Putin is personally threatened, like if rebels are besieging Kremlin, then it is possible, as the very last resort.
At the moment, Putin is not threatened at all, in fact he is only mildly inconvenienced by the election charade. The war goes swimmingly for Putin, sure there is a stalemate, but he is looking forward to his buddy Trump being reelected and for Trump forcing Ukraine to surrender, just like he promised in his talk with Orban. Putin is weak, cowardly bully, why would he risk everything by deploying nuclear weapons if he is likely to get what he wants anyway?
Some serious copium on the Russian side with regards to the Free Russian Legion
I've got to say I share Victor's viewpoint a bit further down. I think no chance of nukes, Putin is just going to keep doing what he's been doing knowing that US military aid to Ukraine will almost certainly stop if Trump gets in and maybe even if Biden stays.
Let's see what happens
What's this?
Been a while since we had a Belarus will they, wont they, moment.
The plan there looks like it's to level out the border and cut off the bulge of land into Belarus.
Latvia, NATO member. Now we'll see how NATO responds.
Smells of Putin's greasy fingers directing this to test NATO and test Spud Head how loyal he is to Putin's orders. The Free Russia legion have really put the wind up him.
No French troops for Ukraine yet......but if needed, this could change.
Macron needs to sh*t or get off the pot. He's been meddling and flip flopping since the whole thing began. I'd swear he just wants to be noticed.
As we blissfully sit out here on the west coast of Europe saying ah shur we will be alright shur the brits and the yanks will look after us
With a major conflict just 1,000 miles or so from Copenhagen, and with Russia warning that the war could escalate beyond Ukraine, Denmark has announced a £4.4bn boost in defence spending.
He wants one european army. But he's trying to get in now to have France as the head of the forces. Germany won't take the lead as their history and too close to Russia. Poland would do it tomorrow but they're still building up strength. France have that strength already and are a nuclear power.
For this and the need to deal with Putin now. Let him have his head. Hopefully some good will come of it.
Add this to above also
More from Macron .. No more negotiations with russia .. Nothing to talk about
Honestly although what he's saying could be motivated by home politics I'm at least glad he's finally saying something that could cause worry for Putin.
For too long now the west has been far too clear about exactly how far we won't go. We absolutely will not ever get directly involved.
Then you end up with situations where Putin feels grand with cruise missiles and drones swinging around NATO territory to evade Ukraines western air defense because he knows we'll do nothing. There's literally no strategic advantage in telling Putin what we won't do.
F*ck around Putey boy, find out. That next stray cruise missile might have dire consequences. Let the Russians finally worry about what the west might do.
