The moves I suggested were down to poor performance last week. Age is very much secondary.
Any complaints there were about Healy were nowhere close to the two I highlighted. Having said that, I wouldn't be complaining if Healy dropped out, once it was consistent.
Some arse covering going on here
Way to twist the narrative
Ok, tell me what is the narrative?
trusting the experts is something all you "im not a doctor but...." merchants out there should try someday.
I was in favour of Baird starting ahead of POM before the captaincy was announced, but you can't go dropping your captain after a narrow loss on matchday 4. Correct 23 for me though the Nash thing feels a bit off
There is no redemption to be had this weekend no matter how much we destroy Scotland by (not that I think any of players actually have to redeem themselves).
The redemption theory would stand up in a test series game following a defeat by a top team but not against this Scottish team.
where did I say "I" didn't trust the medical experts.
The "only" reason the IRFU sent him for an independent review was that they knew his inclusion would attract media attention so in a effort to cover themselves they sent him for an independent concussion review.
Andys never dropped anyone due to form
Is there a more dishonest poster on the forum than you?
The "only" reason?
not perhaps that they wanted that extra reassurance from a concussion expert that the player was good to play, for that players own welfare?
Obviously Nash passed his necessary HIA 2 and 3 in order to be available for selection.
So you can't provide evidence that I don't accept the medical experts despite claiming otherwise in your op
you suggested it was a media cover-up
typical of the "always the victim" BS thats par for the course from the die hard red eyes on here.
despite what you may think, you're extremely transparent
@phog @Interested Observer @sydthebeat
I suggest the 3 of you make use of the ignore function, as otherwise you're going to end up losing your access here.
**** other provinces their fans are the worst
Every province
Really disappointing to see him take the field again.

There's no way he should be playing.
No....and also Until he learns how to tackle
why not? he wasnt knocked out?
he didn't show clear signs of concussion on the day that would make the 12 day step down mandatory.
he passed HIA 2 and 3 (obviously) AND they go the clearance from a concussion expert.
people can feel bad all they want, but the informed people made the informed decision. The very same scenario where Feyi-Waboso notified his medical staff when he experienced concussion symptoms, and they made the informed decision to remove him from selection
all the rest is just emotional shooting in the dark.
Amazed he has been passed by a doctor but if he has I would take it at face value. I think Nash has been excellent but he is not so irreplaceable we need to take risks with his health.
*Laughs in Carbery*
I'm actually quite surprised that anyone took my query seriously.
I'd have Duncan Weir into that 23 ahead of Healy atm. Yeah, I know he's 32 now and hasn't been in the Scotland squad since 2020, but he's a 10 and Kinghorn is not (and he has exactly the same amount of career silverware as F Russell, if not as much silver).
Come to think of it, Healy also has the same amount of silverware 🏆️
in fairness, i think even the medical community would accept that there really is no such thing as a concussion 'expert'. its frightening how little is known even by 'experts' and the current protocols have been, and still are, criticised as inadequate by a number of professionals. Dr Barry O Driscoll resigned from World Rugby over not thinking HIA protocols were sufficient a long time ago and according to him, things havent gotten any better.
There is no way Nash should be playing on Saturday, but its not as if Ireland doesnt have precedent in this (Sexton in NZ 2022 for one)
2 years later
Yeah the definitions are very hazy, and the tests are incredibly subjective compared to other areas of medicine. These mouth guards with the sensors in them are a nice start in terms of measuring impacts, but even then you're going to be comparing those to statistical models and trying to draw a line somewhere in terms of what's the acceptable level of impact that comes with an acceptable level of risk of trauma. Even then that's not a clearly measurable thing so you'll have to look at other statistical models for things like cognitive functions in short and long term.
If Engineering was being carried out with the same level of information and testing capabilities there'd be a lot more planes falling out of the sky.
I'm actually not that surprised anymore.
Doctor passed him because he probably did show "no signs" of concussion. And I'm sure Nash thinks he feels fine.
But that's part of the problem. Doctor assesses him against the criteria.
Anyone who thinks that tackle didn't literally shake his brain needs to watch this.

You are insinuating that the coaching team are slacking in their role because they did not reach out to Crowley to give him work ons. When it is actually just a recent academy graduate being proactive about looking for advice to progress.
Its different for different coaches. Joe schmidt was very active in reaching out to young players and players on the periphery andys not been
Andy's reasoning for no change
Well according to Stockdale etc they are in constant contact with the coachs, not Farrell but the coach for their area.
