A full Spice Girls reunion, the 5 as Posh returning rumoured for Glastonbury as well as the yearly Oasis reunion talk too
Line up.
Who was saying Shania wouldn’t be headliner category?
Ummm, she still isn't. 4th on the poster is the Sunday afternoon Legends slot, not headliner.
Dull enough lineup but that’s what I was expecting.
Dull, very dull. But still enough to keep me busy at first glance.
Cyndi, Janelle, Heaton, Justice, Heilung, Sleafords, Orbital, Breeders, Otoboke Beaver.
Not a great initial lineup headliner TBH. Think I'll be giving Pyramid much of a miss this year. John Peel Woodsies probably and The Park
Ah yes. The Janet Jackson font... :)
What's with Faithless so far down? (And who's replacing Maxi Jazz? Impossible. Maybe vocal track?)
Must be playing one of the stages not specifically named.
could be a dj set or warm up for new show
Maxi Jaxx left in 2016. It has basically just been Sister Bliss DJing under the name since then.
Probably playing on one of the Silver Hayes or the SE corner stages that are still to be announced.
Shania....
LCD Soundsystem, Cyndi Lauper, Idles, The National, The Streets, Confidence Man, Jungle, Jamie XX, London Grammar, Gossip, Kneecap, Fontaines DC, Orbital, Romy, Barry Can’t Swim, Mary Wallopers, Lankum, Bonobo. And this is before they announce the main electronic acts?? Happy out with this first announcement 😊
Seems pretty clear that the rumours of Madonna last year/Stevie Wonder early this year being in the mix and falling through were true, SZA then promoted from Other Stage headliner to Pyramid headliner in recent weeks, and Idles bizarrely promoted to Other headliner. LCD Soundsystem would surely have made more sense as Other headliner instead of Idles, but maybe they wanted Pyramid this time after doing Other headliner in 2016.
Enough names for me for a decent weekend anyway, even before all the many other stages announce in a few months:
LCD Soundsystem
PJ Harvey
Janelle Monae
Idles
The National
The Streets
Avril Lavigne
Bloc Party
Jungle
Jessie Ware Justice
Danny Brown
Noname
Squid
Sofia Kourtesis
Jamie xx
James Blake
Arlo Parks
Soccer Mommy
Fontaines DC
London Grammar
Orbital
Barry Can't Swim
Mount Kimbie
Bonobo
Skream & Benga
She is top row. Yeah she is legends catergory but is top billing.
groan you are insufferable.
Its the worst G line up in a long time. Other Stage, John Peel, sunday "legend" etc. All pissweak.
Playing Sunday afternoon is not headlining
Madge was never on the cards.
Shocking lineup, but the days of decent festival lineups are long gone.
First time ever I don't know who one of the headliners is.
No FOMO this year tbh..
.. a lot of the acts I'd like to see already at the likes of ATN.
Plenty to see there for me anyway. I'd love to see Coldplay too. Weird one.. Actually can't remember if I've seen them before. Have a feeling I may have at one of the Oxegens I was at, but genuinely no recollection.
Usually the G stands in sharp relief to the dross elsewhere. This looks hugely average (lazy?) - i mean look at that Other Stage. Abysmal. Going to be so busy with people meandering around to fill out the day. WH could be incredibly busy with the top level not pulling the usual crowds.
Coldplay?!
LOL
The discussion wasn't about where she'd be on the poster. It was about if she was headliner or Legend slot.
Just take the L on this one pal.
I hold my hand up for an L.
I kept going back to the pretty much adamant response from organisers that this year would have two female artists topping the bill.
With Dua Lipa a cert, Shania was the biggest artist fitting that bill about and had also never played.
I assumed they'd get Stevie Nicks in the legend position and never even considered this SZA.
I would say Yussef didn't get top billing last year that went to Lizzo actually who was only a legend at abusing her staff allegedly.
Sza sold out the Three Arena two nights in a row last year. And will sell out Malahide this year. Number one albums and singles all over the place. Won Grammys etc. Shes a massive act.
Gave her a bit of a listen earlier. Not for me anyway, but whatever.. There's plenty of other stuff to see anyway.
Funny looking back now at the big controversy over a genuine superstar like Jay Z headlining a few years ago
16 years ago!
Hip hop rarely works live anyway imo.
16?! Jesus!
SZA might be massive, but so are loads of acts. Doesnt mean they'll nail headlining Glastonbury. I couldnt give a fiddlers about her streaming stats or how rabid her (niche) fanbase is. Her appeal is selective, to quote Ian Faith.
