Anyone any thoughts on this?
i was very pro EU, but lately I’m having mixed feelings. I’m from Newbridge so cutting turf is part of our heating houses. While I wonder how the government have dragged this out for over 10 years is puzzling. Now they want us to cull cows. I wonder how many years/decades this will be dragged out?
Turf should be banned. Simple as that.

And bring said meat in from south America. ( carbon transport be damned)Just add to that there for ya.
Who?
I think he means the people who cut turf.
This government...

Homebuyers account for less than 6 per cent of apartment purchases in Dublin – report
The analysis by the Banking and Payments Federation Ireland (BPFI) said the majority of apartments in the city are being acquired by private rental sector investors and state bodies, who acquire homes to provide social and affordable housing.

Construction sector increases hiring despite continuing slowdown
Activity in Ireland’s construction sector slowed for the seventh month in succession in January although not as badly as at the end of last year.
Great country if you sit on your hole.
Very few new builds come up for sale, so those numbers are to be expected.
The govt buys or rents a lot of these homes but they should be selling more of them as affordable apartments, instead of giving them all to social housing.
Replied to the wrong post.
trans atlantic travel, then gas guzzling over the continent.. are you part of the greens by any chance? they dont stand for anything except idiocy.
Green Party save the planet policies are for only the great unwashed and farmers.
Not "part of the greens"
Has anyone in the Green party told people they can't fly transatlantic?
Have you ever read the Green party policies?
Or is this another example of people with too much time on their hands going into TD's personal lives and then spreading nonsense about them so the online twitter crew can lose the plot?

d. Dublin Airport should be mandated to report to the EPA the hourly and daily
levels of NO2 and PM10 limits which are currently reported on an annual or daily
‘mean’ basis, which does not take account of peak time activity. It is highly likely
that hourly peak-time daily activity which is not recorded is in breach of the limits
set under regulation the EU Directive 2008/50/EC on Ambient Air Quality and
Cleaner Air for Europe.
e. The EPA to ensure that the DAA to meet its zero waste to landfill by 2020
commitment.
7.2.3 Increasing responsibility at the individual and corporate level.
The Green Party believes that the success of any paradigm shift in changing the culture of frequent and
low-cost air travel to more sustainable levels will necessitate a higher level of awareness
b. Conduct major public information campaigns to inform the public about the
environmental impact of air travel. The cost would be similar to cost of the Covid-
19 information campaign.
obviously, one rule for them .. one rule for the rest of us
None of that bans you from flying, nothing mentions transatlantic flying
Did you read what you posted?
And enjoy camping.
Did you forget which account to respond from? 😂
And now it seems infighting in FF.

Mostly 'off the record' though..
Martin shrugging his shoulders at the whole thing
He said that although it was worth reflecting on what happened, there “may be” some overreacting over interpreting the defeat of the Government’s proposals.
He added: “I’m comfortable with the people making a decision on something that’s been around for 30 years.
I suspect similar sentiments are being expressed privately in the upper echelons of all parties
Referendums will likely be a half-forgotten faux pas by the time the general election rolls around...
How many times has the media reported spilts and infighting over the last 4 years about FF and all of it came to nothing
It's always the safe, reports say. No person making an actual comment from the party and it's just filling web space
Speaking to reporters in Limerick, Mr Martin said he did not accept the resounding no votes were a message to the Government, adding that he believed people voted on the proposal put to them.
So no soul searching whatsoever done after last Friday by FF leadership. Certainly not the awareness of the gravity of the no vote that some of his backbenchers have taken on board.
It's everyone for themselves now as we near a general election. FF in particular seem to be completely divided. It's going to be a groundbreaking general election.
Can I just try to sum-up the way the nation (on the whole) feels at this time - it does take a little reflection though
Do you remember where we were as a country in 2010 regarding the general consensus of the government of the day?
Did you have a little think?
There ya go...now you've got it
They absolutely despise us- nothing but contempt for and how much money they can squeeze from us
Sweeping comment of the day award goes to you.
We are down to random comments by people saying "oh the government hates me" "woe is me" 😂
Why would the government hate the people who vote them in and pay their wages?
If that is the case then every politician in Ireland can be accused of hating the population.
Pushing forward with policies that don't work for the public, doesn't mean they hate the public. They are indifferent. If there was money in solving health and housing, they wouldn’t be in crisis.
So the government for all their narcissism (and there’s plenty of it going around) actually care about the average Irish born joe and josie? If that really is the case that has warmed my heart and made me smile.
HSE gets 23.5billion this this
Housing package is 7 billion this year.
Money is been thrown at these issues.
Well following arounds TD's, tracking when they go on holiday or even attacking them when they go to shops would seem to suggest in some peoples eyes they are very important. Almost to the point that some people are obsessed with TD's like Leo Varadkar
You actually have people on TikTok and their entire account is just about making videos about Leo. People on boards creating at least 10 accounts and spending all day posting to themselves and attacking people over the government.
Some crazy sh*t in Ireland and then you call say "narcissism"
The comment "Irish born" really does say it all thou.
Why does it say it all? You’ll have to expand on that… Thanks
