I'm sure Hitler did do some good things, it's just that with the whole starting a world war and genociding millions of people, he's still very much in a deficit within the great ledger of morality and therefore not a person to be emulated or defended. It's possible to find leaders in history who did good things without that kind of baggage, so when someone feels the need to defend Hitler in a tenuous way rather than just emulate someone overall better, you really, really have to wonder about their true feelings.

Leaving aside the chilling connotations, it's almost impressive how Trump has managed to very firmly put the party under his almost total control in a few years. The party has undergone a total purge and that's a very good rebuke to those who disingenuously say, 'they're as bad as each other'. The Democratic party has not become a screeching cult of personality in thrall to one man. Joe Biden hasn't seen to it that everyone who speaks against him is either ousted or marginalised, but that is what Trump and his acolytes have done in the Republican party. They're moving their pieces into place...

Where are these polls being conducted? The thing about the US system is that it really only comes down to about ten states, so they're really the only polls that matter. All the other states are either solidly red or solidly blue. So, Biden has to retain states like Arizona and Pennsylvania and Georgia, or flip other places. So, it's paramount that the vote in those places is exactly as energised there as it was in 2020.
