Ireland can win the Championship this weekend. England only have pride to play for. Have at it.
I think the few people on here who actually understand rugby will be able to tell you.
I think that almost every team, if not every team would kick it away in that situation. Maybe Murray's kick wasn't particularly good but I don't really understand the tantrums of posters blaming him for doing what 99% of scrum halfs would do.
Murray's kick to touch with a minute and 20 seconds to go lost the match.
So...
How am I, a Cork man, Munster fan, and Con member an anti-Munster partisan?
He's needed to start all tournament but the management painted themselves into a corner.
The best and bravest option would have been one out and tip on passes, retain possession and back yourself to secure the rucks. Would have to be confident not to get isolated.
Depends on Nash.. If Nash is out might have Ringrose on wing..
Horse Racing Country. Our horses are more successful.
The anger has not calmed down yet. It’s been said but they have had a bad tournament. Coaches still have big question marks beside them, lineout was taken apart today. No street smarts on display at all, no learnings after the SA and NZ match with closing the gap. Nothing done to highlight them closing the gap, too nice at times and no dog.
Crowley still learning I know, he becomes a bit aimless in matches at times. Need competition in that spot. Time to refresh the squad now and say goodbye to some players.
Poor old Scotland are going to get shredded next week.
I'm wouldn't be sure they are.
They, like us, took an opponent lightly and got beaten today and will be up for next week
A pity we haven't an International outlet for GAA. Bar the International Rules, which we usually got beaten up at and couldn't compete.
GAA and Massey Ferguson country.
Gutted actually, but again I am sick of the hyped up expectations only to be brought back down to earth due to our own failures.
What flop, we're still going to win the 6N next week.
Seen it referenced a few times, what did Heaslip say?
It's a missed opportunity but I'd say they've had a very good tournament , do you forget them hammering France away? How often has that happened in the last 50 years?
england deserved the win but we lost the head. I’ve always thought Ireland have a mental problem with being number 1 or favourites.
We bought into (and rightly so) the cult of Farrel. What happened today was his 6/2 failed. The Irish lads aren’t used to it and saw the potential issues with it unfold before their eyes. Bad decisions followed across the park
It wouldn't be Irish like performance to bottle next week as well.
Nope can't be explained it was purely idiotic
There was no world cup hangover last year when we delivered an equally poor performance against England. Or the year before. We've relied on red cards to beat them. We're not as good as the rugby media in this country would have you believe.
100% , A few carries to move in and up field and then have Lowe bury it and defend 60 yards out
Part of the problem is Murray is so blatantly obvious and so so slow with his box kicks. He is very easy to counter against.
We have more than enough players who can keep the ball for 90 seconds but Murray is still playing the game from 10 years ago.
Farrel deserves some criticism for having him there and Casey delivering water.
Farrell just referenced that England scored while Nash & Frawley were concussed. It happens. That's rugby.
England were great today. They made Ireland look average.
Play like we did today and no garuntee we win
Scotland are muck. We battered them at the RWC. We early beat them in 6N last year with a crazy amount of injuries. Why do Irish fans consistently respect Scotland? NZ would talk about beating them by at least 30 points.
We could. I just wouldn't depend on Ireland.
He hasn't and can't. It was plain to see this time last year that we had problems with the line-out but nothing was done, the Kiwis and now England had a field day with it.
Yeah, possibly the worse case scenario with the 6-2 materialized, and it definitely impacted our usual defensive organization. We still should have won, but for Murray taking the wrong option with 90 seconds left.
Strange game. The first one in a very long time where from the first 15 minutes I never really believed Ireland would win it. Even when they were ahead it just never felt like they would close it out.
Maybe this is a badly needed wake up call.
Thankfully maybe it will put an end to some of the absurd, arrogant and totally unlikeable commentary about how great the team are. It makes the loss worse because some have made ejjits of themselves in the media.
Embarrassing.
England were the better team.
Casey has his flaws too. I'd usually have Murray ahead of Casey.
The gap between both of them and Park is too wide. That's the real issue.
Paul o Connell needs to be sacked after the 6 nations. not the first time the lineout hasn't functioned.
Casey is not the answer, but Murray was dire
