Ireland can win the Championship this weekend. England only have pride to play for. Have at it.
england deserved the win but we lost the head. I’ve always thought Ireland have a mental problem with being number 1 or favourites.
We bought into (and rightly so) the cult of Farrel. What happened today was his 6/2 failed. The Irish lads aren’t used to it and saw the potential issues with it unfold before their eyes. Bad decisions followed across the park
It's a missed opportunity but I'd say they've had a very good tournament , do you forget them hammering France away? How often has that happened in the last 50 years?
Seen it referenced a few times, what did Heaslip say?
What flop, we're still going to win the 6N next week.
Gutted actually, but again I am sick of the hyped up expectations only to be brought back down to earth due to our own failures.
A pity we haven't an International outlet for GAA. Bar the International Rules, which we usually got beaten up at and couldn't compete.
GAA and Massey Ferguson country.
Poor old Scotland are going to get shredded next week.
I'm wouldn't be sure they are.
They, like us, took an opponent lightly and got beaten today and will be up for next week
The anger has not calmed down yet. It’s been said but they have had a bad tournament. Coaches still have big question marks beside them, lineout was taken apart today. No street smarts on display at all, no learnings after the SA and NZ match with closing the gap. Nothing done to highlight them closing the gap, too nice at times and no dog.
Crowley still learning I know, he becomes a bit aimless in matches at times. Need competition in that spot. Time to refresh the squad now and say goodbye to some players.
Horse Racing Country. Our horses are more successful.
Depends on Nash.. If Nash is out might have Ringrose on wing..
The best and bravest option would have been one out and tip on passes, retain possession and back yourself to secure the rucks. Would have to be confident not to get isolated.
He's needed to start all tournament but the management painted themselves into a corner.
So...
How am I, a Cork man, Munster fan, and Con member an anti-Munster partisan?
Murray's kick to touch with a minute and 20 seconds to go lost the match.
I think the few people on here who actually understand rugby will be able to tell you.
I think that almost every team, if not every team would kick it away in that situation. Maybe Murray's kick wasn't particularly good but I don't really understand the tantrums of posters blaming him for doing what 99% of scrum halfs would do.
Nash was flat on his back KO'd when England scored their first try and left the field so we were down a player and then had a non winger on the wing for the rest of the game
Ah look I'm just deflated , you are probably right.
There was a definite lack of direction from Crowley. That fast up defence never let him settle.
But really it's down to England's forwards playing so well. Until this game Ireland had won the majority of collisions against their opponents. England also looked very ropey against Scotland up front. They reached a level of physicality not seen since the World Cup semi final.
Do you remember when Heaslip was captain?
He's always been a disaster mentally, his punditry is a running joke with my mates.
Just really disappointing today, some players exposed as being past it, some affected by the occasion but will learn, but that should be the end of the 6-2 split. Truly exposed today.
Unfortunately Henderson is not what he once was. It’s pretty evident that is the case for the other lads.
Scotland game could be the last hurrah for 2 or 3 players.
They will be bitterly disappointed that they aren’t going for the Grand Slam next week.
Poor old Scotland are going to get shredded
Some fan you are.
Fans with longer memories known that beating England in Twickenham is hard and doing it the same year you beat France in Paris should be considered a mind blowing task.
He could try talking less 💩
Sadly but true you are correct
Scotland are rubbish.
Doesn't mean the team is bad unless you expect 100% win record.
He should've been starting from the beginning of the tournament.
Can't be said enough how the 6-2 bench fucked us today. Frawley was successfully targeted as soon as he came on, and pushed Keenan out of position to accommodate him. Then our most important player, JGP, is pushed to the wing when Frawley gets sparked. Our whole tempo of play suffers and we end up with an ineffective Murray at the helm.
Same old story talked up to death and then flop. We are not a rugby country but a gaa one,
We showed up and won a grand slam last year.
Go through every team, bar SA, and they've lost important games over the past few years.
That's sport, silly posts all over the place after a loss. From people who, perversely, take more enjoyment out of their country losing. They all come out.
The issue is he'll still be in the 23 next week and be given no incentive to improve...
