This sums him up nicely
That's fine, but we know that no-one is really going to see that apart from Seth Meyers' audience, and I'm guessing they skew overwhelmingly anti-Trump, anyway. So, it's preaching to the converted and won't do much of anything to move the dial. That's not to say it's not correct in principle to list those things, however.
Why are voters so seemingly unaffected by Trump's insanity? Because it's become ordinary, in a sense. By which I mean it happens so much that it's no longer unusual. Media outlets who are critical of Trump have merrily contributed to their own ineffectiveness in actually denting Trump's reputation by running every single story on him in search of ratings. We may look back on this time and say that running only the most significant stories on him would have been much more socially responsible. Until then, Steve Bannon's strategy of 'flood the zone with shít' is proving highly, highly effective. And even though he publicly proclaimed that this is what he was doing, the media is still falling for it. They just cannot stop chasing those ratings.
The first order of business is for all Trump-critical outlets is to starve him of the oxygen of publicity, but they will never ever do this.

Correct but given Liberal America's ability to kick itself in its own áss, I don't think there's any harm reminding potentially lazy or disaffected voters that as much as you might hate Biden ... the other guy's a lunatic and can't be allowed get near the White House.
And, to make that thought even scarier, he is probably going to win in November.
Remember when he overperformed vs the polling in both 2016 (polling said Hilary) and 2020 (polling said Biden - bigly)? He's now ahead in all the polling, including in every single key swing state.
So yes, bring on the events, dear boy....
That was the message four years ago as well. 'Yeah Biden might be bland and old, but this Trump guy's a sleazy, dangerous scumbag."
But since then, nothing has changed. Voters are being given the same choice and if that's what they're disaffected about in the first place, there may be no amount of reminding them that gets them to the voting booth.
The fact is, it would seem, that the last three electoral cycles have been about how awful Trump is than how great the other person is, be it Biden or Hillary. Where's the next Obama? A charismatic individual with a real message. That's what the Democrats need to really start to put Trumpism in its box. Best you can hope for is to hold it at bay, 'til then.
He forgot to mention covfefe.
Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke....
Was the Logan Act repealed while I was asleep?
Someone is trying a Nixon
Very clever
Slap!!
Slap!!!!
There isn't any chance of a British court being able to hold him to paying a fine? Does it just mean he becomes somehow liable if he goes to Britain? Though of course he has property in Scotland.
So does that confirm the Russian golden shower actually happened then.
He is too bothered by the reporting on that for it not to be. Reportedly early in his administration he’d bring it up unforced to WH staff constantly like “do you believe that?” The same way he gets upset at rallies worrying if his followers believe he’s in cognitive decline, the anxiety is a big tell.
He doth protest too much.
Biden owned the GQP at the SOTU. I love the look he gave Margie Taylor, who was wearing full Trumplodyte regalia. Then, when that performative fool went on about the poor woman murdered in Georgia, Biden turned it right around and said, "Pass the bill and save lives."
He's right - any more deaths from illegals between now and the bill's passage can be laid at the feet of the GQP.
At the same time, or maybe it was yesterday, TFG gave some speech where he said, "The American Dream is dead." My WWII veteran father and his brothers and all my parents generation are turning over in their graves now. No one sane, can vote for TFG. Ever.
Lincoln Project has a video of TFG sniffing. Just, him sniffing. Sniff, sniff, sniff. Epic.
(cue the Trumplodytes and the Biden hair-smelling nonsense now.)
Ive not watched it yet but according to CNN this morning Biden nailed the SOTU.
Standing and talking for 90 minutes kind of flies in the face of people declaring him frail or incapable.
I dont think I could stand for 90 minutes talking constantly.
Looking forward to watching it later.
It was a small thing that probably meant nothing, but interesting how Mike Johnson nodded along to Biden's assertion about helping Ukraine and fighting Putin; I'd have thought anything like that would require poker face but unless it was performative, perhaps there's hope yet of getting Kyiv the aid it needs.
I watched with trepidation but yes he was impressive and would be ,surprisingly the pick of the Dems on that evidence .
He still is too old ,though (in years ,not in ability-and what about 4 years from now?) but it feels like he is the man for the moment (on top of his game).
It shouldn't have been necessary to turn the SOTU into a stump speech but he doesn't have honourable political opponents in that chamber or in the country.
They are the Deplorable Party ,quite clearly.
Agreed, but the GOP's insanity has left him no choice: imagine party politics so riven with sycophantic myopia that even with on key "principle" (a strong border) you turn away a fairly robust bill, all 'cos King Trump wants the glory. If Biden keeps playing this hardball the GOP might find themselves losing ground quick enough.
Trump has posted the near $100m bond in order to appeal the judgement in the E. Jean Carroll case.
I'm assuming if he loses the appeal, the money just goes straight to Carroll.
Exactly that.
I also think it's a "one and done" deal on the appeal - He can't keep coming up with new wacky reasons for the appeal each time he loses.
There's bound to be at least one lunatic billionaire in the world who'll either give or loan him 600m for the two bonds.
How much is Putin worth?
Without prerequisites?
I watched the SOTU live last night
If I was in the Trump camp I'd be worried....thaaaaat Biden can beat Trump in my humble opinion
Far from worried, it was a campaign speech by Biden that's all. With the Border Crisis, Inflation, giving billions to Israel & Ukraine while families are living in cars and illegals getting 3k a month while retirees on 2k and veterans on 2k. Homelessness & crime at record levels. Blacks & Latinos now leaning toward Trump.
Yes. The border crisis that Republicans won't assist in fixing by passing the bill.
Ukraine/Israel: a threat to one is a threat to all.... I think it is wise choice for the "leader of the free world" to show strength and stand up (particularly to the likes of Putin) - contrast that to Trump's bowing down to Putin
"Illegals" getting benefits - would be tackled by the bill that Republicans won't help with
Job Creation by the Biden administration is helping to tackle homelessness
Yes, Black and Latino communities is definitely a challenge for Biden. I wonder was there an improvement after last nights show of strength and his vision for America for the future
Around 1 Russia i'd say.
