My dad went in to vote his No/No today around 11am- the lady at the poll said it was a surprisingly busy morning.
Voted No No. to the nonsense. Mid-day. Surprisingly busy, one teen announced it was her first time voting.
It's quite telling with the responses on any politician's twitter of them casting their yes vote
Same done now.
Voted early and No/No
just saw on Twitter- those numbers can’t be right.
Just back from #NoNoF*ckFFG. I haven't been as angry in a school since I got my first wedgie in 4th class.
What a sh1tshow.
Alan Shatter with shots fired too
Just passed the voting station there few mins ago. Car park was packed this morning, is empty now but that might change when all the yes voters get out of bed.
Just back from voting.emphatically NO to ffg.
Done and dusted. No & No
FYI
I’ve yet to meet someone that’s voting yes. I know as farmers we’re in rural areas and I’m sure urban opinion might differ but it’s a resounding no no from anyone I know or have spoken to about it.
So you’ve read the AGs advice to the government and that what you e taken from it. Read the leaked memo again. The problem here is the downright disregard for voters by with holding this letter. The state is us the taxpayers paying for all this scutter.
Still no no here and most people ive talked to about it are the same. I cant trust these dear leaders one bit after the last few years. Hopefully the silent majority will turn out today and vote to show were not going to pander to the fairly vocal minority.
Not at all, that us if the main problem that it will be negative for carers? In this article the main concern expressed by the AG is that "strive" may be interpreted by the courts as having a more onerous meaning than "endeavour" and thus increasing the states duty towards these people, especially vulnerable people in the eyes of the courts, who are most likely to challenge it.
This is a good thing as it, quite simply, enables the constitutional amendment to fulfill its role as steering legislation for the betterment of society, rather than the original anomalous and obsolete effort at casual misogyny we currently have.
The promotion of this article as supporting a No vote could only be endorsed by Scrooge like accountants.
Another reason to vote Yes, Yes here.
Vote early, vote often 😁
I’ll be down to vote at seven. I don’t trust this bunch of cretins and the ditch has got the memo which shows what a sh1t show this is. Lies and withholding information. The letter from the AG to the minister saying advising them of what a disaster this would be has been leaked. Twitter or Facebook the ditch has it.
Fair play to you base. There's a fire under alot of us to show this lot we still have a voice.
I've the alarm set for 6am so I can drive home to my place in NCD (about 2 hours) to vote, turn around and head back to my other home on the farm. However I've a cow in the calving pen that may scupper my early morning plans.
Edit to add - remember to bring your driving licence or passport with you for identification and your polling card.
Aye..if it means little or nothing then why change it?
Such bollockology.......
I heard Neil prendiville on red FM, asking Holly cairn's to come on to represent the yes vote. But she was unavailable all week.
The opposition parties are staying very quiet. There's no point in chatting much more no this, anti woman, anti mother, anti family referendum. Just go and vote No.
Let FF FG keep their durable relationship and keep the word Strive, and instead help the people. Squardering and wasting our ffucking money.
The treatment of working people or old people or people with needs in the last three years, proves they don't give two shhits about single parents or careers. You would want to be very stupid to argue otherwise
So some €17m of taxpayers' money is being squandered on some wording that, some "experts" inform us, means little or nothing!!! 🤬
Thanks for that, Leo and Roderick. Oh - and good luck to your parties in the coming Local and European elections!
There is a case due to be heard in the Supreme Court on April 11th taken by the mother of a severely handicapped child who requires 24 hour a day care. Her carers allowance has been cut because her partner earns over €45K. If she wins her case it would force the government to change the way carers are looked after. If this referendum on carers is passed it will delete the article under which the woman is taking the case getting the government off the hook. Carers will be worse off if this referendum passes
Within three weeks of a date for the Supreme Court hearing date being set, the government announced the referendum on the carers article, some coincidence isn’t it.
Seems some of that withheld information has been got
click on the link. He spells it out in the Twitter thread
Interesting reading the comments section to the IT open letter, especially the one from @ColinMangan_TGC
Also had a laugh at this one
Just read it - the gist of it is don’t believe the scaremongers as the change in wording means little or nothing.
You can read it without subscription
Can you put it up here. The IT is subscription only and I am not a twit
