Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

Cat-Mod: See post here regarding off-topic segues.
Chris Evans asked him a question in the handover at 10am this morning "So is Russell Crowe, is he a regular now?" but Tubridy did not answer and proceeded to blather on about Crowe's tour and where he will be. It sounded like a response from a typical politician, incredibly cringe.
Or Chris Evans just fed Turbridy a line so that Tubidy could talk about something other than sausages or books.

Response to Bobson Dugnutt:
Would the opinions of his News UK colleagues or industry pros hold any sway with you?
"12 clichés in a row in his opening link this morning" or "Yeah that's a "tall-ennt" right there" or simply "Tubridy is a p****" or "He is not doing himself any favours with this opportunity he has been given to reinvent himself and he will be gone, with nowhere left to go after this"
I like Crowe as an actor and his films are always watchable but he's an insufferable ballbag really. Notoriously thin skinned, no time for criticism of any sort, prefers to live in the world of tedious and bone dry anecdote, nostalgia for a bygone age "when men were men" and always has lots of time for journalists and TV/Radio presenters that will both fellate his throbbing ego and allow him an opportunity to do his wandering minstrel routine....
I wonder why he likes Tubs!
i agree - he will go when the sponsorship ends.
At least I agree with you about social media, it's the only place where the unsocialised can mingle.
Ryan tubridy is awful, but a perfect symptom of the insular rte culture.
Let's see NK hunt them down for royalties & Copyright dosh,.... manipulating barter account payments is child's play, compared to the merry dance of hoops this lot will put him through.
Not sure it'd be a wise move, as RT would have to fully own that tripe he calls a column. And looking at the negative comments on the articles, I don't see the IMoS or Evoke.ie taking up arms beside him.
In keeping with copyright compliance, I hereby give you notice that some components of this article may be reproduced in my 16 yr old nephew's CV for a grunt part time job, while he's studying.
Please advise your AI Chat buddy of same.
Will Tubs be calling his old friend Jamie Lee O'Donnell as he struggles to find fresh "celebs" for his show? - He has had Andrea Corr and Russell Crowe on a couple of times each in the last 8 weeks:

Tubs: "I don't know when you came to my attention but obviously I've seen you in"....as he READS his script!! Christ.
Then... literally READS "you ...are...one..of..the..great ..stars.."
They shouldn't post videos of him doing radio. It makes him look more inept. Watch him actually turn the PAGE on something he should have been able to reel off if he was in any way prepared or professional.
Tugb, There be none of that gaa stuff in Rock!
I had to go into the office yesterday and my alarm went off at the wfh wake up time and it felt like the middle of the day :)
That's is a bit pathetic ok.
If you have to read out all the things you loved him in, maybe you haven't seen half of them, or maybe aren't a fan of his at all?
Are suggesting that our Ryan is some kind of cardboard personality?
What exactly are Ryan's UK audience meant to know about "The Gah"? 🙄
International nerd book day, was Tubs intro today.
Of course it was. Sure didn't you hear, Ryan likes books. He doesn't like to talk about it too often though.
Someday he might even colour one in.
I just want to tell you all...
Very sad news
Saoírse Ruane, who inspired Toy Show appeal, dies aged 12
A bit insensitive to link this to tubs but he did a lot for this girl and gave her and her family some great memories, he could have just done the motions but always felt he went above and beyond for a lot of the sick kids he had on the show. He deserves recognition for that
Ahh - that's very sad. I am sure Tubs was 100% genuine in his interaction with the poor child and her family. Awful news
Surely it's only a matter of time before Paul McCartney takes out a restraining order on Tubs? His (fake) obsession with .Macca seems to be rolled out every day. It's not healthy at all
Irony of Tubridy giving his rating on movies he'd watched recently and the last one in his list had "snow" in the title. Considering Twitter and Reddit traditional posts on the night of the Toy Show, any mere mention of snow by Tubs himself seems hilarious!
That's a stretch now in fairness
Having viewed that video several times, it just goes to further prove how awkward and uncomfortable a watch / listen Ryan Tubridy is. He has grown more rusty from reading his little flash card-like cue cards on The LLS, it would seem apparent and he looks like he has not properly researched the interview subject - constantly giving off nervous imposter syndrome vibes.
On further listening today, he went on ad nauseum about his pilgrimage to the London Irish Centre (you would think he had walked all the way to Tibet) in there were some signature namedrops for Sinead O'Connor, Shane McGowan and some condescension about how Irish people pronounce a "soft" T, anglified Irish accents and other off-target audience stuff - round the houses? The speech break circled London more times than the M25 and yet had little conclusion other than a narcissistic style tease for some childish business "of the future" he is involving himself with there.
Does he not realise he has listeners all across the UK in Glasgow, Cardiff, Birmingham, Newcastle, Belfast not to mention in Ireland? He is either too London Irish one minute - or behaves as if he is back on the 9am show at RTE the next minute. He fails every time to interpret "GAH-isms" and other such Paddywhackery to the majority of his dwindling audience out of courtesy, if nothing else. His translation is as lost as his appeal to his audience at this stage.
News UK can make radical decisions in a heartbeat and since he has joined both Graham Norton and Piers Morgan have left News UK and the failed Talk TV is moving back to Online Platforms and DAB Radio only. Ratings can easily take a nosedive when taking a gamble on a no-talent marmite such as Tubridy and sponsorships are not eternal - those contracts all have a best before date.
They have begun to realise just what they have hired. They were sold a nepo-pup - NK we need to talk about your client....
Who said he was hired?
It could well have paid for his seat to keep his brand alive.
The conspiracy theories forum is over here: https://www.boards.ie/categories/conspiracy-theories
To quote "That's a stretch now in fairness" if I were to speculate/answer your question.
Radio silence for around eight months, no offers in Ireland, act of desperation, call in favours from paddy power etc...
It is speculated from within the industry that he bartered in sponsorship with Paddy Power in order to secure himself a space on mid mornings as he is unknown and would not have been hired if it were for the strength of his aircheck demo.
So yes, in a way it is possible that he may have bought himself a slot at Virgin Radio. When Paddy Power ends, so too will their love affair with him at News UK.
