Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
No she isn't.
But they might sell 5-6k tickets for it there.
I think she’s pretty huge now. Only 18 months since she played to a decent EP crowd when third on the bill at Rankin’s Wood. Quite bland I thought, but that sells in the 2020s.
So why don't they stick it in a 5k venue?
Oh yeah... 😋
Ah come on, blink 182 is on the same day and they moved the venue "due to planned maintenance". Ffs.
🤣 🤑
Heeey! An evening in the company of the Fonz himself! How cool is that!
2 days after Weezer play 3Arena
Enjoy the Smile any of you others peeps that are here
Well I saw Leather Tuscadero at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester last year
I bet the Fonz does not sing Devil Gate Drive either 😛

Russell Crowe's Indoor Garden Party July 1st Gaiety Dublin
How are you finding The Smile @Ricosruffneck ?
I felt like I wanted to be at a Radiohead concert but I wasn't.
It sounded better than when RH played 3arena the last time.
Just felt it was lacking somewhat.
I imagine what people felt like when they were watching Paul McCartney and the wings when they were expecting something like the Beatles.
7/10
Just to mention I really like both albums.
I really enjoyed it
Bit of a lull in the middle with the quieter stuff but finished main set with Bending Hectic which was gloriously destructive
Thom n Johnny swapping bass duties and playing the bejaysis out of the 4 string plank was rather delightful too
Was at that RH gig seated and had no issue sound,
Any youngsters on here will be totally lost with those comments.
I was at D, and felt the mix was muddy. A couple did from reading at the time. Perhaps standing was better.
Oddly enough I mirror both @Ricosruffneck and @Weepsie in that I was at The Smile gig tonight, and found it lacking, and I had a bit of a funny stomach.
Probably the most average gig I've been to in a while.
Pretty much summed it up for me too. Not bad by any means, but not Radiohead and missing that secret sauce only they seem to be able to muster.
Anyone get tickets to dr strangelove at Bord Gaia for feb 25- only went on sale at 9 and none available for any of the run now?
the usual ticketmaster bullshit?
would have thought 46K tickets would be gone like that guess they have to finesse the release for platinum gouging
Loads of tickets available.
not one of the 22 nights is sold out. Just checked a minute ago and great seats in stalls being offered
Ok showing now in app was nothing showing on web for me
Some were asking if they were coming here soon
I was at it. Thought it started quite low key but really picked up in the middle of the set until the end.
Bending Hectic is an absolute beast of a tune. Haven't been able to get it out of my head since the gig ended.
Got fourth row for the opening night.
Was hoping they would. Bit surprised at venue but maybe it's another where a 5k venue could have done. Guess they've plenty of time to sell tickets with their new album out soon will generate more interest/sales.
it will be doing the reduced capacity set up for 3 arena. Benefit of the set up being flexible.
True. Last gig here was Whelans albeit back in 2018. Know they were doing a lot of festivals but not sure they played any/many here. Will be interesting to see if they get lot of interest for headline arena gig on a Sunday night in November. Guess their song with Leon Bridges got them lot of attention, nearly 230m plays on Spotify.
Played rankins wood at EP 2022.
smile...
thought that was a respectably sized crowd for a thursday night.
Bending Hectic is up there with the best RH related songs for me, builds so well to that epic climax.
Panavision has grown on me now I've heard it live, not a song I cared much about before.
Enjoyed that.
