Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

We need to position a volunteer boardsie to stand outside VM office and report on Tubridy's typical arrival times...
Oldhausen's is just a brand name as well now made by Mallon's in Monaghan. They also supply own brand sausages to Dunnes. And make Clonakilty sausages. Who knew Clonakilty was in Monaghan and not Cork (IE 406 EC is Mallon's code). One of Larry Goodman's companies makes the Superquinn sausages.
No need to get a ready made coddle in Sainsbury's. The Guardian gave the Great British public the recipe.
No. The sausages should never be browned. Skehan needs to man the **** up and simply boil them.
And using waxy potatoes is as un-Irish as getting off the middle doors on a bus.
This recipe is a horror show.
Brown sauce and cabbage on the side!? What on gods earth is wrong with people. Candy sauce maybe but that gloop of HP shouldn't be anywhere near there.
It's an abortion. A horrible London backstreet abortion.
That’s shockingly bad in fairness. I’d rather eat AI coddle. And by AI I mean artificial insemination.
Maybe Tubridy, as a dyed-in-the-wool Dub, could undo this abomination and introduce the Brits to proper coddle.
Or if that’s too traditional, to the fusion “coddle full Irish breakfast” I pioneered.
Ah now Gregor you've just given yourself away...mayonnaise? Some sort of oat milk or baby gravy in a glass, no sauce covering the beans and, for the love of God, a buttery knife resting on the table with more butter on the table than on the bread? .. nah, not having it. Obvious troll is obvious.
It’s a fusion dish - a mixture of two Irish classics - coddle and the full Irish breakfast.
Boiled sausage, boiled rashers, boiled mushrooms, a lightly poached egg, boiled beans (I washed the sauce off because I don’t like spicy food), a mayonnaise dip. Unfortunately that day I had to microwave the bread as my toaster was broken. Washed down with what I like to call a “Milk MiWadi” - a splash of milk in water. Not as hard on the tummy as a full glass of milk.
There’s no butter - that’s mayonnaise. Proper coddle should aim to keep everything as white as possible - hence no carrots, for instance (but parsnips are fine). Yellow Irish butter doesn’t fit in, and I’m not using French butter or lard again.
My kids love it. I admit that it’s a bit shocking to a traditionalist, but sure Hawaiian pizza is too.
Oh jaysus that’s an abomination. an insult to coddle and a full irish. 🤮
Alright, I probably shouldn't have posted the coddle breakfast. It's not the thread for it, and it's only going to distract from the topic at hand, which is Tubridy's burgeoning career in London.
I guess we got derailed by the Superquinn sausages.
burgeoning?
How about nascent?
I had to look up the word but, nah, he doesn't fit your description. Not by a long shot.
Response to Maebee:
At first I thought you had just published a transcript of a typical Ryan Tubridy Virgin Radio link.
One could but treating AI like a artificial general intelligence (able to reason rather than summarise inputs) can cause problems. Parkinson retired and then died last year so the frequency of crawlable webpages (this is what a lot of AI models use as an input) would have dropped off after his retirement and would have spiked after his death with obituaries and then fallen off over time. Michelangelo and Best would be almost "evergreen" subjects in that they are frequently the subjects of discussions on forums, blogs and would have substantial references on Wikipedia and other informational websites.
When it comes to techniques and criticism, that can be more of a subjective issue as people will have different ideas on those techniques. Much of the the data available on the web would be archival in both of those cases. Both Parkinson and Tubridy would have a lot of relatively current data available on the Web and there would have been spikes in that data in 2023. The data on Tubridy would be more current.
I don't work with AI but I do work with large datasets and algorithms.
Regards...jmcc
In reference to one word descriptions of Ryan's London career, maybe pratfall would also be appropriate.
Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. I’ve learned a lot about AI and sausages over the past 24 hours.
I did try to get Stable Diffusion to draw “a list of criticisms of Ryan Tubridy”, but it came out weird:
It looks like I’m better off compiling my own lists of criticisms of Tubridy, Parkinson and dead people in general until the technology improves. But on the plus side, I’d say our jobs are safe for the moment!
Get the coddle right and the rest will take care of itself.

Gregor Samsa: Write me a list of things Ryan Tubridy should be criticised for.
ChatGPT: I can't fulfill that request. Criticizing someone isn't productive, but offering constructive feedback or discussing areas of improvement can be helpful. If you're interested, we can explore aspects of his work that you think could be enhanced.
Gregor Samsa: Yes please
ChatGPT:
Certainly! Ryan Tubridy, like any public figure, has areas where he might improve:
==============
Gregor Samsa: Write me a list of things Michael Parkinson should be criticised for.
Sure, here are some potential criticisms of Michael Parkinson's interview and presentation techniques:
==================
So ChatGPT criticism of Tubs isn't productive but it unleashes on Parky, the benign explanation is that ChatGPT is a crowd pleaser and learned from your insistence on receiving 'constructive feedback' on Tubs that it could bypass it's own filters
Ah, Gregor, that's disgusting.
It looks like an AI representation of Tubridy's dog's dinner of a show.
Is that Russell Crowe on again? It is fairly impressive that Tubs can get him on at will
Tubridy is now irrelevant to us, thank God.
Not exactly. He still gets a mention on RTE:
I agree with most of that, except the second part of item 12 (bolded below).
12. The committee recommends that RTÉ ensures that the terms of any future exit agreements with staff do not contain any confidentiality clauses and that it be a condition of any exit agreement that the former employee must cooperate with any internal or external inquiries or investigations, including Oireachtas committees, and that such agreements align with the observations of the C&AG’s Special Report 91: Management of Severance Payments in Public Sector Bodies158.
The powers of any inquiry or Oireachtas committee should only be defined and enforced via legislation. Not through back-door actions via employment or termination contracts.
If Oireachtas committees want the power to compel former employees to attend, it should only be done though appropriate legislation. Broadening their powers this way is inherently undemocratic.
Ddibh.
I've worked in this trade and it doesn't matter if they are made in the same factory, they are made to the specifications of the brand, like cort might manufacture a run of fender guitars for fender etc
As John Godfrey Saxe famously said: "Laws, like sausages, cease to inspire respect in proportion as we know how they are made."
The PAC would do well to remember this as they attempt to circumvent legislation and over-reach their remit.
TalkTV getting the axe today to save money. News UK clearly not able to keep funding a no hope no viewers station. Looks like they are keeping a close eye on the costs across the board as advertising revenue stays in the doldrums
Rebekah Brooks said TalkTV wouldn't make money, declined to actually launch it and was over-ruled by Murdoch. She is generally more supportive of the radio expansion so may protect that a bit more.
The lateness is catching. Poor ole Oliver Callan slept it out today. He managed to sleep through 4 alarms. I slept it out myself this morning - forgot to set the alarm - but still managed to make it to work on time. The joys of working from home. 😉
I would urge Ryan's supporters to carefully read each scathing comment one after the other until they see the rating of his popularity.
For example an english chap commented "please take him back we don't want him here"
