So thought I’d throw this up, in a similar style to the electricity and gas switching deals available
one big switch have a deal for eir Broadband €35 a month and €100 credit added to your account for new residential account holders, if you’ve had eir before use spouses name which I’ve done in the past
@adventures I'm out of contract and was going to move to sky. Are you on the 500 meg fibre or the 75meg plan? Their terms said the 75mb (superfast) is going up by €5 in april and i can't find any mention of the €5 extra on 500mb (ultrafast).
pure telecom 29.99 per month for 12 months for 500mb fibre. deal on onebigswitch.ie
Not eligible for NBI customers.
Anyone know if they've a offer for 1Gb too?
Nothing on the website but I'd be interested in that too! I just can't face signing up to eir or sky again and Pure look to be a decent option.
did you have to haggle or did they just offer it,
I am with Sky but yet to receive this email about an increase in fees, does it get you out of the contract, as I would lea ve them in an instant for the Pure deal.
Nope they just offered it straight up. I had to question them a bit about the CPI index increase though.
Got 500mb and landline(unlimited call to other landlines) with Vodafone for €35 for 12 months. No increases. No haggle, just rang and said was going with Pure. Took 5 minutes.
I had the complete opposite. I rang up to ask what they would offer as my contract was coming up and first they said 70 with TV, I said no thanks, I didn't want tv and could get broadband with sky for 30. They transferred me to the loyalty team who offered me TV, phone and broadband for 70 again. I said no thanks, and sky was 30. They counteroffered with broadband and phone for 45, I said no thanks, that I could get broadband and phone with pure for 35. They then offered me broadband by itself for 40. I thanked them for their time and asked where I could return their equipment to.
That's my experience to a tee, every time.
Its VF current offer to anyone - new and existing.
See website https://n.vodafone.ie/shop/broadband.html
When I renewed they tried selling it to me as though it was a loyalty discount - total BS as its available to anyone.
Mazzy Star was offered €30/m for 12 months. The offer on the website is for €30/m for 6 months then €40/m
AH yes - my bad!
Picked up a second hand 5G modem and a 3 prepay sim. 450 down and 60 up a month for 20 quid a month. I won't be changing anytime soon.
Same here and I am lucky enough to be on the 3 Hero plan for 15e/month - lucky enough to live in a rural area close to a 5G mast. Won't be changing to BB anytime soon, even though NBI has kindly left it user ready outside my gate.
They do, it is 35 for 12 months for 1Gb
Good to know.
Thanks for checking. I'm on a rolling contract with Sky @€40 for 1Gb. The hassle of trying to switch to save a fiver.... Hmmm
The amount of hassle dealing with Sky compared to Pure would make it well worthwhile.
Moved to Pure yesterday. Sky was a good experience, and I'm a little worried Pure might not be as technically optimised as other providers, but it was painless. I called directly and stated the One Big Switch offer and all was good. The account registration process gave me some confidence, opposed to the hassle of cancelling Sky.
12 months at €30. 500Mbps. No price increase during that timeframe. Router arriving this week.
Let us know if ye get a Fritzbox! Or those awful Eircom ones
I believe that I was informed that it was a Fritzbox. That said, I'll be using a Deco M5 mesh.
So far, the experience has been quite the opposite of what I expected. I enrolled with Pure three weeks ago, but since then, there hasn't been a single communication from them. Despite reaching out twice to inquire about the status of my router and when I can expect my connection to be activated, the response has been consistently vague, with promises of being contacted "next week."
I currently have VF Siro 1GB 200Mb up. Not sure how come i have 200MB upload rate but I do. I sued to pay €30 a month for the last 4/5 years but this year they would not give me another contract at that rate. So now I am currently on a rolling contact at €45 a month.
I was wondering if i switch to Pure telecom Siro what the upload world be?
Not sure, i found this tho

They confirmed Fritzboxes to me on the phone, actually said that giving them out was a major selling point in people switching to them (I think i got a 7530 when i was with them before).
could try sky on Facebook or what apps supports , that what I used when I need to get anything sorted.
I had that issue with Vodafone before, sign up to 35 for 12 months , after 2 months it went to 40, I questioned them on it, stating we agreed to 35 for 12 months and pointed out that the website still stated the same offer, they added "discount" to put me back to the plan I had agreed to.
I also got this email from sky - but when I checked the small print of my contract they have covered themselves for future price rises.
"The totals shown above exclude any one-off charges (e.g. Sky Box Office or non-inclusive call charges which are billed in arrears), products that are in the process of being cancelled (unless otherwise stated) and future price changes (if any) for which you would be notified separately, so these may not reflect your total monthly bills."
I signed up for that deal but @ €40 a month! Never mentioned that offer to me over the phone. Oh well. Happy with €40 for 12 months and will see then. The router is being delivered today and installation is next Tuesday. Hoping it'll be painless. I'd a mare with fibre being installed in my last place. It required digging for ducting to be put in in a housing estate. Virgin wouldn't let eir/sky use their plastic duct that was empty. Mad stuff!
