So thought I’d throw this up, in a similar style to the electricity and gas switching deals available
one big switch have a deal for eir Broadband €35 a month and €100 credit added to your account for new residential account holders, if you’ve had eir before use spouses name which I’ve done in the past
Can confirm. Same for 1gb. Only does up to wi-fi 5 also which is a disappointment.
Still the 7530. Received mine yesterday for the 500mb package
Would you mind posting the model of Fritzbox. For 500Mb they sent a 7530 previously. Wondering if they've moved up any.
Don't need the phone at all to be fair. Just wondering had I been swindled out of a fiver! I'll keep it as is. Got my router yesterday. It was a Fritzbox. Will give it a try for a few weeks and see is it worth upgrading my router then. Always wanted to look into it to see did speeds increase and 1GB fibre feels like the time to start!
Thanks. It's 12 months:)
Check your email for when they sent you your contract if they sent you one.
I rejoined Eir last summer. How do I find out my contract lenght without wasting a half a day on the phone please amyone?
Yes their modem and sky modem have identical settings. Both work with the other provider.
I was with sky before, fritz arrived. I didnt connect it and for 2 weeks i was getting service from pure with sky modem on...
Yeah they will charge 35 for next 12 months. Save €60 with pure and no interruption to service. My pure (fritzbox) router arrived today and is working perfectly with sky even before the planned switch next Tuesday.
Contrary to what others have been getting from Sky re price increases, I got this saying they will keep my offer price as is for another 12 months. Still probably move back to Pure.
This will be music to your ears. We’ve extended the offers on your account.
We know value for money is more important than ever and this is our way of saying thanks for being with us.
And there’s more good news.
Your offers have been added automatically and there’s no minimum term to worry about. You don’t need to do a thing.

Just RE: Sky Broadband price increases, they confirmed on the phone that the increases are only affecting those on older plans.
If you signed up for the €30 plan which is currently on their website, you won't be faced with the price increase until next year.
Call them and ask for them to update your plan. Worst case scenario is they may restart the 12 month contract but it would only add a few more days if you only joined. Can’t see them not giving it to you. If still in the cooling off period you could also threaten to cancel.
I still think that's a good deal but if it was me and I needed the landline I'd be p1ssed
Im paying vodafone 50 euro a month for vodafone home fibre bundle. is this normal or can i get this cheaper from them. i think all national landline calls are included in that price via landline. i need the landline for my mother
No it was just the 1GB broadband for €40. I double-checked. I signed up on Saturday morning over the phone.
Did you get your phone included in that? The 35 offer has no phone service while the 40 standard has 1gb and phone.
I signed up for that deal but @ €40 a month! Never mentioned that offer to me over the phone. Oh well. Happy with €40 for 12 months and will see then. The router is being delivered today and installation is next Tuesday. Hoping it'll be painless. I'd a mare with fibre being installed in my last place. It required digging for ducting to be put in in a housing estate. Virgin wouldn't let eir/sky use their plastic duct that was empty. Mad stuff!
I also got this email from sky - but when I checked the small print of my contract they have covered themselves for future price rises.
"The totals shown above exclude any one-off charges (e.g. Sky Box Office or non-inclusive call charges which are billed in arrears), products that are in the process of being cancelled (unless otherwise stated) and future price changes (if any) for which you would be notified separately, so these may not reflect your total monthly bills."
could try sky on Facebook or what apps supports , that what I used when I need to get anything sorted.
I had that issue with Vodafone before, sign up to 35 for 12 months , after 2 months it went to 40, I questioned them on it, stating we agreed to 35 for 12 months and pointed out that the website still stated the same offer, they added "discount" to put me back to the plan I had agreed to.
They confirmed Fritzboxes to me on the phone, actually said that giving them out was a major selling point in people switching to them (I think i got a 7530 when i was with them before).
Not sure, i found this tho
https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058323897/is-siro-limited-to-100m-upload
I currently have VF Siro 1GB 200Mb up. Not sure how come i have 200MB upload rate but I do. I sued to pay €30 a month for the last 4/5 years but this year they would not give me another contract at that rate. So now I am currently on a rolling contact at €45 a month.
I was wondering if i switch to Pure telecom Siro what the upload world be?
So far, the experience has been quite the opposite of what I expected. I enrolled with Pure three weeks ago, but since then, there hasn't been a single communication from them. Despite reaching out twice to inquire about the status of my router and when I can expect my connection to be activated, the response has been consistently vague, with promises of being contacted "next week."
I believe that I was informed that it was a Fritzbox. That said, I'll be using a Deco M5 mesh.
Let us know if ye get a Fritzbox! Or those awful Eircom ones
Moved to Pure yesterday. Sky was a good experience, and I'm a little worried Pure might not be as technically optimised as other providers, but it was painless. I called directly and stated the One Big Switch offer and all was good. The account registration process gave me some confidence, opposed to the hassle of cancelling Sky.
12 months at €30. 500Mbps. No price increase during that timeframe. Router arriving this week.
The amount of hassle dealing with Sky compared to Pure would make it well worthwhile.
Thanks for checking. I'm on a rolling contract with Sky @€40 for 1Gb. The hassle of trying to switch to save a fiver.... Hmmm
Good to know.
They do, it is 35 for 12 months for 1Gb
