So you think Starmer is that way yet you already know that Sunak is that way so how does that make Sunak worse?
How do you expect someone to argue when discussing the known against the unknown?
Edit: haven't really phrased the above very well but hope it sort of makes sense.
I'm not sure if you miseread the post or mistyped. I think that Starmer is potentially more dangerous than Sunak and a Tory government in that there is less chaos, therefore a veneer of steadiness whilst continuing to govern in a way that undermines anyone not in the wealthy class.
The fact that Starmer "urged" the speaker of the house to change standard practice is alarming. Regardless of the language used he still, and has tacitly admitted in doing so by saying he "urged" Hoyle, interefered with the speaker of the house who should remain impartial. The Tories are a basket case, Labour under Starmer potentially moves in the same direction, with less chaos.
In my defence, I was questioning the logic behind this post...
Remember when some got all upset when Sir Starmer was called a red Tory. It’s going to be so funny when the Brits vote him in and he turns out to be worse than Sunak.
Ah I think we're probably all prone to the odd bit of hyperbole from time to time though.
Starmer's all right!
Maybe, but he sure isn't all left! 😉
I see that charlatan Galloway was elected in Rochdale. Whatever about the 'cause' that is worth fighting for, galloway is never the ansewr.
Starmer is most likely in the pocket of big business
That's a pretty bold claim. Based on what exactly?
The poor people of Rochdale really had nobody to vote for.
Lucky for them the next election is less than a year away.
As usual he'll be a lousy constituency MP. Don't think it has ever been re-elected for any seat.
The independent David Tully might be worth watching.
He's the very definition of a carpet bagger
Aye, they should have elected a Tory or a Labour MP, they’d be much better off then.
Galloway is every bit as self-interested and dishonest as the worst of the Tories - but at least (for the most part at least) they tend not to be shills for Vladimir Putin.
If the voters of Rochdale had elected Ravin Rodent Subortna as their MP it's quite likely they'd get better representation than Galloway will give them.
George Galloway similar to Ramsey McDonald has represented four different constituencies.
Odious man.
Much better to be shills for Genocidal murderous psychopaths like Biden and Netanyahu as Starmer and Sunak are.
George Galloway is a charlatan AND the ongoing massacre and drawn out torture of civilians currently being perpetrated by the IDF (aided and abetted by American weapons and vetos on the US Security Council and cowardly foot dragging by the two major British political parties) is an absolute disgrace.
Both of those are true.
You seem to be of the opinion that any criticism of Galloway and his motives is a tacit denial of the second truth.
You are sneering at people for an argument that they are not making. That's the very definition of attacking a strawman.
I reckon Galloway being in the House of Commons will be a good thing (and I disagree with him on many topics). He's one of the only MPs in the Commons who will use the words "genocide" and "war criminals" about Israel - the entirety of the Conservative and Labour parties would be absolutely terrified to use those words in the chamber.
Galloway is a self serving politician much like a good chunk of MPs, particularly front benchers. To say he's in the pay of someone is again like a good chunk of MPs.
So I'm not clutching my pearls he's been elected, it's great to ruffle a few feathers if nothing else, and if only for a few months.
The wringing of hands from Tories and Labour (and mainstream media) was frankly laughable.
Yeah I have no love for Galloway but the fact the Tories (and Hoyle last week) are now running with the narrative that people are being threatened and intimidated is crazy.
There is little evidence of this, it's certainly not happening at the wide scale being suggested although I wouldn't be surprised if there are threats given how heated and volatile things are getting.
Both the Tories and Labour are adding fuel to the fire by trying to demonise a large proportion of the population.
Sad story in the times today about Andrew Bridgen falling into the anti-vax cult, his wife who has just filed for divorce gives the interview, as much as i think he's an eejit they obviously are taking advantage of him and his position.

I thought he was a right dodge-pot even before I became aware of this anti-vaxxer stuff. He chalked up a suspension from the HoC for breaking rules over lobbying, and some of his remarks during Brexit & Irish passports showed a warped view of reality.
Labour and Starmer seem hugely compromised on Israel unfortunately - terrified to criticise them in any way for fear of being accused of being anti-Semitic by the right wing press.
Oh absolutely the Nolan show stuff was farcical with how uninformed he was, still its sad to see anyone fall into qanon/antivax brain worm cults, especially with how it sounds that hes just completely ignoring his child during a serious illness.
Compromised compared to whom? The entire west, save for Ireland and South Africa, have been shown to be completely hypocritical in their support of Israel.
This is not just a Labour problem
The more I read about him the more I am convinced he is a publicity-seeking shock-jock. Only just found out he was sueing Matt Hancock for libel. Pity about the people he is dragging down with him, but the guy himself I hope loses the case and is taken to the cleaners.
Mod: stay on topic folks - some off topic posts deleted
"Electoral Commission records show that he has given £105,261 to the South-west Surrey Conservative association over the last five years."
Ah yeah, they're totally in touch with their electorate.
Its a first for me to say it about that absolute Hunt but fair play to him if he at least stands. The rest of the cowardly rats in his party fled the aqueduct long ago
If anything I wonder if he's fallen out with either his local association and/or whoever still funds the party these days.
