A new thread for Spring general discussion.
Wet start in Greystones with definitely no snow. 4.9c atm.
Snow in Terenure
Snow in rural Longford but I reckon it's snow of a different kind to the snow in Terenure.
It's definitely white!
Covering all the surfaces to give a voice winter wonderland look?
Snowing away here in Naas, probably 30 mm on the ground.
Leitrim gives 'Spring' a wave this morning.
Blizzard conditions in D24 to start off spring 😂
No snow in cork city :( . Enjoy it while you have it!! ☃️☃️
Brilliant 😊
Certainly not blizzard conditions in rural Longford as there's barely a breath of wind but there is close to 15cm of level snow on the ground now......or a half foot in old money, far far more than I was expecting but it's obviously a direct result of me forgetting to bring my drone down with me yesterday from Meath, If there were blizzard conditions here, there'd be some fairly sizable snowdrifts around the place!
Real Bizarre Spring so far...we've had a mixture of rain some beautiful days and now some snow for March...let's see what the next couple of months bring us
No snow in D13 or Swords but plenty of rain, lots of rain accumulating on grass and footpaths, great start to spring!
What you're describing is exactly what you'd expect to see every spring 🙂
😀..suppose your right. Let's see what the next couple of months of Spring bring us.
It's been 1 day, Jesus.
He/she goes by the celtic calender. Where Feb is the first month of spring. Why he/ she keeps doing so on a weather forum when told meteorology it starts in March I don't know.
Not really keen on this to be called "spring". I prefer astronomical spring as a real beginning date.
Well, no more rant. Quarryfield, near Bunnanadden, co. Sligo this morning.
Jaynee Mac incessabt rain. Just won't stop. Lying water everywhere
4⁰ Meath
Frequent hail, rain and sleet showers in Kerry with bright sunshine at times too, Mountains and hills got a good coating of snow but didn't see any lower down.
Certainly March starting off with some harsh weather.
Wouldn't that make even less sense though, one month into spring and we're still getting snow?
Looking for a reaction, that's why they keep saying it
Didn't I tell you all winter was coming back with a bang this week, oh ye had little faith😁.
Sad for the kids that we didn't get snow here in NCD, we were very unlucky 10 minutes up the road had it and the M50 was absolutely treacherous this morning.
It's all melted now anyway in Dublin.
If anyone was a betting person March 1st would be a safe enough bet for snow!
Very good point, the first third of March has delivered lying snow in my part of Dublin in the following years over the last ten years:
2024 (1st), 2023 (10th), 2019 (3rd), 2018, 2016 (4th), and 2015 (1st)
A 60% success rate.
Sorry, had you seriously no snow in March 2018?
I did, I just typed 2019 twice by accident, fixing it now.
Except that this is a leap year!
No bother just curious with your location.
Bright, cool, light frost. It was great to step out in the bright sky for morning walk. 2⁰ Meath
I wasn't expecting this lovely morning!
At last it's not lashing, we got some amount of rain yesterday.
Snowy here in beautiful Bath
